GREG Chappell has given a startling insight into the secret world of Sachin Tendulkar by claiming the Indian great has occasionally been mentally fragile. No cricketer in history has been as idolised as Tendulkar is by more than a billion Indians and his way of coping has been to place an invisible curtain between himself and his legions of fans. To the outside world, Tendulkar is an imperious sporting genius, but former Indian coach Chappell has revealed the cricketer is not always what he seems. Ahead of Tendulkar's farewell four-Test tour of Australia this summer, it is a rare glimpse into a Tendulkar not many people have seen. "At one point early in my time with the (Indian) team ... he came and talked to me for about two hours," Chappell writes in his new book, Fierce Focus. "He was frustrated with his form and racked with self-doubt. Since he'd come back in Malaysia (in a one-day tournament in 2006), Sachin's mental state had been surprisingly fragile and he came to me for help. "When the team travelled, he would snap on his headphones, not look sideways, and shut it all out. Not even Don Bradman carried expectations like this, and Sachin had been bearing it since 1989. "He just couldn't get any rest. Once we were talking ... and I said, 'You must have so many friends, it must be hard finding time to keep in touch with all of them'. He looked me in the eye and said, 'Greg, you would have more friends in India than I've got"

Such a sad thing to write about what was discussed in person to Greg. This proved what culture he belongs to & to sell his book he would go this extent of sharing something which Sachin had shared on personal level. Friends are personal choices & so is friendship. Being choosy about friendship speaks volume of a man's character. Yes Sachin has shouldered the expectations of zillions but he has always maintained his class & composure when in public domain. Its sad that such ridiculous people write, talk about a man who has not written pages but a BOOK of how a STAR should behave. Chappel shows his class his character with everything what he utters. So just ignore Like Sachin said at the time of Shoaib - ITS BELOW HIS Dignity to even comment on.

Cricketing tallent aside, I think SRT has always lacked wisdom of life. What we see is a result of that. Such is his focus on one thing that many other aspects of life are some what unperceived. He will have plenty of time to look at them once he retires.

Here the feat that he had achieved was crossing of Bradman's tally of 29 centuries. Second import duty is not to augment the exchequer's income (even though it does that), its primary purpose is to dissuade people from importing foreign made goods so local goods are not disadvantaged. Third, after the needless brouhaha over the issue, Fiat agreed to pay the entire duty itself hence it is a non issue in the first. What SRT decided to do with the car is his own decision as the transaction didnt fall in the public domain.
