IPS officer Devendra Dutt Mishra, a DIG in the Uttar Pradesh Fire Service Department who is due to retire in 2 years, had threatened to make public files containing evidence of the massive embezzlement of funds in the purchase of equipment. He alleged that senior officers had siphoned off crores and that his superior had pressurised him to clear files, TimesNow reported. Interacting with mediapersons at Lucknow, he blamed the state administration and cited certain incidents in which certain officers in the lower hierarchy have been hounded by the powers-that-be. Speaking to reporters at his office Mishra said that the Mayawati government was thoroughly corrupted and had used money to buy favours from people. "Everybody has been bought. Fake people are consoling me. After that the administrators are showing courage," Mishra said. In a defiant mood, Misra appeared to be least bothered about the consequences he may have to face on account of the All India Service Conduct Rules which he was openly violating by attacking the government. "I am ready to face the music for speaking out; Mahatma Gandhi and Anna Hazare are my idols," he said. The DIG of Lucknow, however, said that Mishra was behaving abnormally and seemed to have some mental problem. "We got the news that he was sitting in his office and refusing to go home. He is saying things, which make look like he is not in his senses. We came because of this information, people from the government too came and finally we called his daughter too. His daughter along with his friend DIG Abhimanyu Tripathi, who has just retired, tried to reason with him. We were with him for almost an hour. Throughout the one hour he kept saying things which made him look like he was speaking incoherently."

akshayxyz Posted November 5, 2011 Author Posted November 5, 2011 Unfortunate and sad, but one thing I can't understand is why old and supposedly wise people, suddenly want to turn martyrs - why can't they stay silent and do/plan the 'uncover operation' undercover?? You are only doing them (baddies) a favor by openly disclosing your plans and weapons. It is like openly charging towards a well armed baddie w/o any backup/weapon, while shouting in typical bollywood style - kuttey kaminey mein aa raha hoon tujhe maarne..Unlike movies, this is almost always going to backfire.
Tiger80 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 What surprises me that why the conscience of people arise in non congress states:winky:

Yeah, I agree. If he wanted to expose something, he should have exposed it and should have taken a vacation in another state. Why stand up and start yelling threats???
