Because the criteria to decide if a batsman should retire or not is his performance in the last 5 test matches. Its not like he has been our best batsmen over the last 2,3,4,5 years or something. As I've made it clear in some previous post, I don't think either should retire. But if some retards are going to open threads on Dravid's retirement based on recent performance, Tendulkar should be shown the door before that. Agree?

However, sometimes calls for retirement are made on the way a batsman plays or got out, which is a quite subjective decision to make and may vary from person to person. I dont agree with calls to Dravid to retire either, but accept that there may be people with the viewpoint and their viewpoint might be borne out of a genuine cricketing opinion and not out of bias for or against certain players.

What I am saying is that if a Sachin fan asks for RD to retire, the call could be motivated out of a genuine cricketing reason and not necessarily out of bias for Sachin or against RD.

One of Dravid or Sachin have to definitely retire along with VVS before our home summer regardless of the series result in Australia i.e. even if we win.If not then we have to rotate them such that only 2 of Sachin Sehwag Dravid and VVS should play simultaneously with other 3 spots filled by youngsters. We have 2 years of test cricket only in sub continent.We should build a young batting line up for future during this period.Not giving chances to older past their prime players to fill their boots in our home conditions till retiring.
