J P K Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Keen to revive bilateral cricket ties with India, PCB's new chief Zaka Ashraf on Sunday said if needed the Board is willing to make the first move and send the national team across the border for a series. "I want to see our traditional bilateral ties revived as soon as possible and for that even if we have to send our team to India to make a start we will do it," Ashraf said on Sunday. The PCB chief is hoping to hold constructive talks with the officials of the ICC and the India and Bangladesh Cricket Boards during a visit to Dubai immediately after Eid holidays. "I will be going to Dubai to meet with the Pakistan team players and officials and will also be visiting the ICC headquarters on the 13th for a meeting in which I hope to have talks with Bangladesh and Indian board officials," Ashraf said. The biggest criticism against Ashraf's predecessor, Ijaz Butt, was his failure to improve ties with other boards particularly the Indians and Bangladesh with whom Pakistan didn't have cordial relations since the shifting of the 2011 World Cup matches in 2009. Ashraf said it was important for the traditional series between Pakistan and India to be revived because it was a big attraction of the cricket world and guaranteed good earnings for the boards and also lifted the profile of the sport in the sub-continent. Pakistan is due to tour India next March under the ICC future tour program and Ashraf said if Pakistan had to go and play in India it would do that. India has suspended bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan since the terror attacks in Mumbai in 2008. Ashraf also conceded that since Pakistan had nominated Ehsan Mani as ICC President in 2003, the Bangladesh board now wanted its nominee to be appointed ICC President for the next term. Pakistan and Bangladesh are due to announce a joint candidate for the ICC President's post under a rotation policy of the ICC executive board that was ratified at a recent meeting of the high-ups. "We will discuss the matter with the Bangladesh cricket officials and see how it goes but my viewpoint is clear all cricket boards in the Asian region need to support each other and have good relations and understanding," he added. Our batsmen after scoring huge runs against them and our bowlers after demolishing them may be lulled into a sense of overconfidence which may lead to england like debacles. I suggest resting seniors and playing players like Saurabh Tiwary, Aravind and Vinay. These guys will not only get international exposure but since the contest will be evenly matched there will be plenty of TRPs.

Only way they'll draw is if it's Ahmedabad or something, even that I doubt - they are hardly as flat as Middle East. But I'd like to see a series cause it'll give much match practice to Yadav and Aaron. They need not fear of bowling badly cause even if they do they'll get wickets.

And if you guys cite crowd reasons, there are hardly any crowds in UAE and won't it be easier to just cross the border to see your team lose rather than going to far away middle east to see them lose. plenty of costs saved.

After that i hope India will play us at neutral venue too....[/QUOTE] If by neutral venue are you referring to UAE because I thought that was your home now what is the logic of Ind playing Pak in a neutral venue....If pak tours India it helps BCCI to make a lot of money and ofcourse PCB will get it's cut,so definetely advantage to both and If pak had a home-ground it would be vice-versa So what is the point of playing on a neutral venue like say Eng,Aus,SA where the profits for a huge series like that (atleast in the pak fans eyes) be shared among 3 boards??? Anyways Eng looks to be out of question after your little incident last time...so which nwutral venue are you talking about?

If a series has to happen it will happen as an India home series not a Pakistan home series which PCB believes is due to it because of the series which got cancelled after the 26/11 attacks.
