its impossible to stay fit on an indian diet.
Replace gee with olive oil and use less oil. Dont put butter on rotis. Have pratha only on sundays. Have skimmed milk lassi with sweetner in it. Dont use laods of salt Have meat only twice a week and even then make it chicken. Drink only once a week. Indian food is very healthy. Just cook it in right way

he is skinny. hard to imagine somebody maintaining fitness on a diet of aloo ke parathe, butter chicken and raita, topped off with a tall glass of lassi. you might as well go to mcdonalds and order the value meal
Haha...but what you are referring to is the typical Punjabi food. There are parts of Indian cuisine that are actually healthy.

Cooked in the right way its fine. Why have pratha everday and even then cook it with half fat margarine, it still tastes great and dont have 3 daily just a couple on a sunday with fat free yougurt. You want me to become your fitness trainer. You will like me enjoy the punjabi food but healthly.

Pants you wear is the best indicator whether you are getting fat or not.
some people keep buying same sizes and wear it a bit lower , until it reaches pubic hair.:giggle:

i appreciate the offer, but your advice would be better spent on cricketers like yuvraj, who are developing the famous 'hour glass' figure with their typical indian diet 9016_103001689711450_100000048572156_83796_1420472_n.jpg

michael phelps eats lean food in large quantities. he doesnt stuff himself with crap drenched in butter, peanut oil, or even worse...'ghee'. ghee is like poison. you might as well drink fat, it makes no difference. yuvraj probably has a glassful of ghee everyday.

I wouldnt call this a lean diet three fried egg sandwiches with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions, and mayo one five-egg omelets a bowl of grits three slices of French toast with powdered sugar three chocolate chip pancakes and this is just breakfast.. He eats foods that are high in carbs for energy. His daily meal is almost 8000-10000 cals!

Over all weight gain depends on amount of calories consumed - above what you require+burn. And on training days people like Phelps gulp down more than 10K calories. And since they have to swim also, I would imagine they consume energy dense foods, and not 'large quantities' of less calories dense.

exactly, in endurance sports, one has to take calorie dense foods.. one can't afford to be running/cycling/swimming around with KGs of poop in the guts.

Yuvraj smokes 2 cigs at a time and loves to party. Thats his problem. Not punjabi diet To be honest I did this thread after seeing run for ball to boundary. It was embarrasing and was shocked how fat he had become in short space of team. Talk about enjoying the world cup win and being the highest tax payer in chandhigarh

The best diet for a cricketer is a normal diet with 60% carbs + 20% fat + 20% protein. Combine that with functional training during the playing season and gym 2-3 times a week or running during offseason and you should be fine. Is that so difficult to achieve???

yes it is, many indians are naturally lazy because of the crappy diets they eat. you cant go to the gym after eating a whole butter chicken

His standard shape is round these days but you can imagine how in a summer where he does jack all bar one Test match and stuffing his face he would put even more on. Remember how plump Sreesanth was when he turned up for the tour match, he'd done nothing since the WC. Fletcher probably doesn't want to set strict guidelines for this sort of thing for fear he'll have to do it as well :fear:
