For *cough cough*, avg has been the key factor, no? which is what I am pointing at .... Not who I think is better

What exactly is so good about this Australian bowling - an 18 year old rookie, an out of form left armer delivering dross for more than a year, a trashy off spinner, and a brainless hustler? The attack is so potent, Ricky Ponting is considering turning into an all rounder to retain his spot. This Australian attack is worse than the Indian attack from the last tour. Zaheer is much better than Johnson, Darty as trashy as he is can never be in the same league as Lyon, Sreesanth and Siddle are both brainless buffoons, and there is little to choose between Ishant and Cummins at this stage of their careers.

Kallis cant play pace all that well. Have you noticed how often he gets bowled against pace? Far more than any ATG batsman should thats for sure. Look at this video, Lee uses a tactic that generally only works against tail enders but is too good for Kallis. 65QJYubz6l4

most athletic bowling action (also best looking action): Brett Lee vs. Allan Donald? I can't pick. I like'em both equally (also my two favourite bowlers of alltime)

Is this a joke post? Have you even followed this series? Atleast look at the scores at which they have dismissed SA : 97, 203-3 & now 266... current innings is going on. So easy to now say Johnson < Zaheer.. but same Johnson pawned SA last time around.. and this adds to fear psychosis. Ask Ponting how time and again he gets out to Harby despite the latter becoming ****. And how convenient of you to ignore someone like Watson and Harris in your analysis altogether, Watson got Kallis for a duck in the first test. Cummins & Ishant Sharma are rookies yes But did you watch how Cummins bowled? He didn't look rookiyish for me. In fact he got Kallis with a snorter of a delivery, that fitted in the mould of a typical Kallis fail against good pace bowling.

And yet he has scored 7 100s vs England with Gough, Flitoff, Harmison and Simon Jones or a 100 against Bond or 2 100s in a series against Aussies with Lee in the line up and another against Jhonson at his best!

Is 203-3 bad? Is the current innings poor? Was the second innings chase in the previous test poor? South Africa folded for 93 and then came back to dismiss Australia for 47 - does it say something about the conditions? When the conditions were favorable, even India managed to bowl them out cheaply twice in a test, something this supposed "good" bowling attack of Australia hasn't been able to achieve. Even in the Cape Town test, India could have taken a few more wickets on the first day - but such things happen in cricket where an occasional dropped catch or an edge in no man's land can make the difference between a 250 and a 350 score.
So easy to now say Johnson Not now. Just look at how the two have been performing since the Ashes tour to England. Zaheer has been consistently the second best fast bowler in the world along with Anderson, while Johnson has been delivering dross on average with a few flashes of brilliance. And over the last 2-3 series between the sides, it hasn't been Darty but Ishant who has been picking up Ponting more often. Despite Watson doing well in a few tests, he is not a front line bowler and so I ignored him. Harris is good, at his best as good as Zaheer, but doesn't play half the time. Every batsman, can get out to a good ball. What's the point here? Even Sreesanth got Kallis with a better snorter at Durban, does that suddenly make Sreesanth world class? I am not arguing that Kallis is a better batsman than Tendulkar as the OP seemed to imply and not too many people would. However, putting up random stats and youtube videos to try and show Kallis as an incomplete batsman is rubbish. He is a very accomplished batsman. Not in the league of Tendulkar, not in the league of Lara, but certainly in the league of Ponting and Dravid from the modern day batsmen. And you can't get to that level of batting by being rubbish against pace as well as swing bowling.

Unfortunately Kallis will never get the batting plaudits compared to especially Lara and Tendulkar, and rightly so, because on the sole purpose that he has performed averagely against the best bowling side during his prime years (vs Australia). The accusations of "selfishness" from SA media has also tainted his success. Regardless, he has been and is the greatest all-rounder in the modern period, the ultimate cricketer, and it's shame he gets overlooked in the frequent hodge-podge World XIs due to solely his batting (even though his batting & bowling average is superior to many). Kallis is the real Mr. Cricket, not Hussey.

So easy to now say Johnson This Australian attack is absolute rubbish. They have been amply been aided by the unusually early start to the South African season which has provided very favorable conditions for seam. And seriously, Bhajji vs Lyon, is a no contest.
