Maybe all that beating from Indians is the reason for Afridi's "bigger" heart :hmmm:

2005, Pakistan tour to India... Afridi, the Minnow Basher plays 2 Test... and takes Sachin's wicket 3 times out of 4. "Minnow" Basher... Agree :nice:

It's pretty well known Tendulkar gets out to crappy bowlers when Tendulkar hasn't seen much of them. Even in Aus he got out to the likes of Clarke, Lyon and Starc who were probably the worst bowlers on view. But since 2005 Afridi has been carted all over the place like a minnow

what does it prove ? Nothing :P Minnow basher will remain minnow basher .He is like Rohit Shama who does the same .He likes pounding minnows ,and he himself becomes minnow, when he plays against better teams http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/42639.html?class=2;template=results;type=bowling

dhoni and indian would love to have this "minow basher" in their team as first choice specialist spin bowler...it wasn't long ago people we asking for Ashwin to be included and after one full series, people here on ICF are asking for Rahul Sharma to be included and get rid of Ashwin...wonder how long will this love with Sharma last? too bad there is not "minow basher " in your team...:)

People tend to forget that Afridi has been bowling well for the past 5 years, during the time when he has actually concentraed on his bowling. His career average is not very impressive because during his first ten years, he didin't focus enough on his bowling. He does, however, need to improve his record against the best teams, and i have a feeling he will.

he was basically a highly inconsistent player who had the talent to average over 30 with the bat consistently but threw it away by always trying to play "boom boom shots". He was given too many chances. Someone should have stepped in and taught him some patience, he could have given alot more consistent batting performances with some guidance. Then he started concentrating on his bowling and became a very good bowler, for e.g averaged less than 22 in ODI'S last year. Anyway thats all in the past. He underachieved with the bat because he wanted to be really flashy but has turned things around with the ball and i am happy for him.
