10 Rupees sounds about right for a night/day out. Even that hd to be swindled from my accounting skills!
I still have that mini accounting diary from my college days, where I used to keep record of dues/owes with friends upto 50 paisa. At the end of the month or two, I would go to them like - you/I owe me/you 8.50. In school days I would manage my piggibank (5ps, 10ps, 25ps, 50ps) to save for 50p/1Re/2Re for a glass of sugarcane juice on my way back to home.

Best bang for buck was gol gappe (pani puri). 5 for 2 rupees with every one waiting for their turn as the vendor made his way around the thela in circular fashion
:nono: It was 4 for Rs. 1 Now it's 5 for Rs. 5 :(( Papri chaat best though. Do they make papri chaat in other parts of India?

You from Ranchi Vibhash? Which part? I have spent many a years and months there, half my family lived there at various points. My Dad is a product of Ranchi University, brother went to RMCH. I was there last year for a week visiting family in HEC, Dhurva, Hinoo and Bundu. Speaking of nostalgia, thats one. Ranchi used to be one of my favorite spot growing up (Hazaribagh being another one). Summer capital of Bihar as it was called back then. Rains in the evening almost everyday. Big open parks with kids playing cricket. Krishna, Cauvery and Punjab sweet house best places to eat out. And Firayalal CHowk. And Kashmir Vashtralaya and roadside thelas outside these places. Hated the part that the town would be shut down by 7 pm or so lol. Lot more crowd these days of course since it became capital.
