The man is amazingly fit and do not have much mileage as of yet. I can see him playing for the next 8 years or so if he is performing and that should get him to those landmarks given his penchant for big scores. 5k and 50 average in Tests should be a realistic goal for Badri.

but there are many others ahead of him (Rohit, Kohli, Pujara, Rahane, Raina etc) who are younger and have performed very well in domestic cricket (and in some cases also in ODIs) and more importantly, Indian selectors are not known for selecting guys over 30. He should have been given chances much earlier but unfortunately he wasn't and when he did get (a few) chances, he failed to make a mark so I don't think he will get another chance.

Pretty much. Those painful innings in the ODIs in WI show how much of a hack this guy is at international level. He can continue "doing what he does best" in the Ranji Trophy and IPL.

He has got one serious problem which he shares with Kaif and Irfan i.e. lack of confidence .. there are others too but I really have a big problem with the lack of confidence and negative body language in all these three players .. and all three gain confidence as soon as they start striking in their bowling or batting etc. .. you cannot be afraid and play cricket .. all these guys think more about not getting dropped from the team and inevitably get dropped in the process .. and you can see the fear in the body language when they start their batting or bowling .. and Badri has problem with the short ball too (same is the case with Vijay) which adds to the problem .. he is not bad but Kohli, Rohit, Pujara etc. are better .. age is not on his side either

Watching him batting in the One Series in WI was embarassing and painful. He was always hitting with a lot of effort straight to the fielders. It was such a relief, each time he got out.
