Sachin=GOD Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 This galaxy s 5 camera will be something else ...that fast focus in HDR mode is awesome it will be one of the best smartphones of u want good camera also it's screen is perfect now...they did many things right but people will hate it because of build and lag in Samsung apps Hope people root it quickly and create Roms :--D The HTC M8's camera is also damn good but I don't think this 2 camera thing at the back will become a trend. As for S5 - IMO the thing that will go against it the most is its plain looks. It just doesn't look like a premium device. In terms of lag, I don't think Samsung needs to worry about that too much because the people who do use Samsung cannot tell if there is lag (at least that has been my experience from seeing a lot of Samsung users. They're usually not very tech savvy hence they don't even know that there's a lag). After getting the nexus 5 I can never go back to a Samsung. Touchwiz... Yukkkk Same here. When I use touchwiz I feel as if the software is treating me like I don't know anything about tech.
Old guy Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 The dual camera has some awesome features.. I am not talking about quality but value added by oem version of Android... I also love keyboard of sense but still prefer SwiftKey
Sachin=GOD Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Phone Makers Back Kill Switch Tech by 2015 The biggest names in electronics manufacturing have signed on to integrate "kill switch" tech into their new handsets. As of July 2015, models built for retail sale in the U.S. will offer a baseline anti-theft tool which can render the device inoperable if lost or stolen. Apple, AT&T, Google, HTC, Motorola, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon have already signed on to participate in a voluntary program from CTIA, the wireless industry trade group. Starting next summer, new smartphones will come preloaded with (or offer the option to download) the so-called "kill switch" function. Left your Android device at the club? Had your iPhone swiped while waiting on the subway platform? Users will be able to remotely wipe all personal data—contacts, photos, emails—and render the smartphone inoperable to unauthorized users, a.k.a. anyone who doesn't know your password. "We appreciate the commitment made by these companies to protect wireless users," CTIA CEO Steve Largent said in a statement. "This flexibility provides consumers with access to the best features and apps that fit their unique needs while protecting their smartphones and the valuable information they contain." In accordance with the FCC, however, 911 emergency communications and pre-programmed emergency numbers will remain accessible. Just in case the thief gets hit by a car while running from the scene. The CTIA's agreement also requires the anti-theft tool to prevent reactivation via unauthorized factory reset attempts. And, once back in the hands of its authorized owner, the smartphone's previous settings and data will be restored "to the extent feasible"—e.g. remember to back up your phone to the cloud. "It's important different technologies are available so that a 'trap door' isn't created that could be exploited by hackers and criminals," Largent said. In February, Sen. Amy Klobuchar introduced a bill that would require cell phones to have kill switch technology. The industry, however, has been hesitant to fully back a legislative solution, opting instead for this voluntary program. A number of companies have already incorporated security software into their phones. Earlier this month, Klobuchar championed the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S5 from Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular would include anti-theft, kill switch-type technology. And with iOS 7, Apple added Activation Lock, which requires someone to enter Apple ID log-in credentials if a phone is remotely wiped. Smartphone security started making headlines last year after New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón joined forces for the "Secure Our Smartphones" initiative. Today, the duo called the CTIA's program "a welcome step forward," but argued that "it falls short of what is needed to effectively end the epidemic of smartphone theft." Schneiderman and Gascón urged CTIA members to turn on security software by default - and to get it done before 2015. "Every week that passes means more people are victimized in street crimes that often turn violent, and more families will have to endure the needless loss of a loved one," they said. "Our work must continue until the standard is that these solutions are enabled by default." According to recent data from a Creighton University data science professor, kill switch technology could save $2.6 billion annually. Sachin=GOD Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Jobs’s Behavior an Issue in Wage Suit Was Steve Jobs a bully? The Apple co-founder’s behavior has become a contentious issue in pre-trial sparring in a class-action lawsuit alleging Apple and three other companies agreed not to recruit each other’s employees from 2005 to 2009, depressing wages for Silicon Valley engineers. Defendants in the case, including Apple and Google, want to exclude books or articles about Jobs, or “a witness’s opinion of Mr. Jobs’s character.” In a court filing, the companies say the plaintiffs want to show Jobs was “mean or a bully.” Jobs, who died in 2011, is a central character in the case. In emails cited in court filings, Google executives recount Jobs’ displeasure when Google recruiters contacted Apple employees. Google and Apple are on the same side in the case, but Google executives offered unflattering portraits of Jobs in depositions taken last year. “Steve being agitated was not unusual,” Google co-founder Sergey Brin testified in a March 2013 deposition. “Steve was kind of irate and agitated and irrational about lots of things.” “In our interactions with Steve, he generally exhibited an irate, difficult, ornery, and petulant behavior,” Google vice president Jonathan Rosenberg said in a deposition the same month. In their motion to limit statements about Jobs’ behavior, the companies said, “Free-floating character assassination is improper, and plaintiffs should not be allowed to engage in it in this trial.” Lawyers for the plaintiffs, representing 64,000 Silicon Valley workers, responded Thursday, asking U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh to permit testimony about Jobs’ behavior. “Defendants also ignore the fact that the force of Mr. Jobs’s personality and reputation have been put squarely at issue by their own witnesses and is interwoven with the facts of the case,” they wrote. The judge is yet to rule on the issue. http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/04/21/jobss-behavior-an-issue-in-wage-suit/
