Vilander Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 fair enough' date=' we are unable to find any young batsmen who are capable of maintaining a 50 plus average, but it's not the likes india, australia, and sri lanka are doing any better in this department.[/quote'] you are joking, young batsmen ?? speak of existing batsmen dont hide behind the veil of 'young' you guys are so vile.. except Yusuf yohana and Younis Khan no one in pak is a good batsman they are the guys who have 50+ avg then comes taufeq umar at 40 with around 2000 odd runs misbah old as he is is still new in test level but good avg 45 but then even R ashwin is having an avg of 40+.. Indian story is different leaving sachin and dravid in stratosphere of 13000+ runs and 53-57 average. we see Sehwag at 7000 + 52-53 average, lax at 8000+ 48 , gambir at around 4000 - 48-50 avg, dhoni before the form slump was a 40+ now is around 39 with 3500+ runs. in FC careers only Umar Akmal and Imran Farhat deserve mention with decent 40+ averages. India we have Rohit,Badrinath, with over 60 Pujara,Kholi, over 50 Raina,Vijay around 45 to mention a few. I think its a joke to compare indian batting and pakistani batting, dont ever try that again.
Naaz-neesh Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Zaheer > Gul Praveen > Cheema Umesh > Junaid Ashwin = Ajmal Jaddu, our comeback man >>>> Afridi You guys are miles behind. Now go check averages. And these bowlers will never help you win a match against a quality batting side. Your yardstick is now Bang, Zim and Kenya - therefore you are deluding yourself. okay, let's take the benchmark in Tests to keep all things equal...vs England away in Tests, since our "yardsticks" have changed. Pakistan bowled out England: 5 innings Pakistan allowed 400+ runs: 1 innings India bowled out England: 1 innings India allowed 400+ runs: 4 innings (inface 3 innings were 500plus!) averages can be a good pointer, but some of the bowling performances from indian team have rather left nothing to admire about. there is nothing wrong admitting india has very strong batting unit, but their bowling is rather average, and on par with west indies and sri lanka.

Those guys who bowled England out are peesing chakki in the jails of England now. I am talking about the current lot who made their heroic debut in Zimbabwe, etc. Averages are a better pointer, as it balances out various circumstances, home series, away series and all. Also, in England we did not have Zaheer and Umesh, and Bhajji was out of form. With Zaheer, Umesh and Ashwin being in the team, and you guys missing out on the 2 fixers, the equations change dramatically.

Yeah, one series where our bowlers were out of form and you had fixers bowling!!!
Vilander Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 i will have to respectfully say no. even say that's a laughable statement. going by past four to five years, Indian bowlers have miserablely failed to bowl out sides in ODIs and Tests on regular basis, especially when the Zaheer is absent. well, ask yourself which current bowling units would you select to defend a score of 200 in an odi on both a green track and a turner. pak: gul, juniad/cheema ,afridi, ajmal ind: vinay, mithun/yadav, ashwin, jadeja also on juniad, another young fast bowler, averaging already under 30 in tests in four tests, playing only in dubai's flat pitches. B-> (Gul 30+ avg 140 wickets ? Zak 30+ avg 270+ wickets ), (Junaid 29 avg, 3 games 13 wickets ? Yadav 21 avg 2 games 9 wickets) yadav is faster, ( Cheema 3 games 12 wickets at 25/Tanveer ahmed 4 games 16 wickets at 25 ? praveen 6 games 25 wkts at 25) , (saeed ajmal 16 games 77 wkts at 30 - ojha 14 games 62 wkts at 34 and ashwin 3 games 22 wickets at 21) , ( Harby > Danish) , Amir/Asif missing but they were better than Ishant in certain respects. Where is the far superiority ? India and pak have comparable attacks. If Junaid was playing in dubai dustbowls do you think Yadav was playing in greentops in india ? You can fill in if i have missed something.
ali0786 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Yadav and Ashwin were playing against West indies, which is quite possibly the worst team at playing spin, and also one of the worst out of top 8 teams. Let them go to Australia and we will find out.

In all you are doing what your countrymen do that is 'deny'. Denial is the strongest drive in your country only outstripped by fundamentalist racist bigotry in sealing your national fate, so we can see the same happening in all the sub chasms of your society like cricket as well.

So your only acheivement is keeping mahela quite.

Note: no stereotype of avearge paksitani citizen meant from my side.

Now ODI's is a different ball game, i hope i will come back to that some time. Neither am i a a stereotype Pak basher just a bit analytically inclined and consistently disappointed in forums with Pak stereotype kids.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 It's early to judge both attacks. @topic Cheema is going good. He may remain in the fold as long as he bowls fast and takes wickets.

saneindian Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 India vs Pakistan in a thread about Cheema? Comeon guys let the Pak fans enjoy their good times.
