Ultimate_Game Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Yes Indians have every right to be angry and feeling of let down but question is why only cricket has to suffer. Why not cut all the ties with us. Why have trade with your enemy? Why do you have ambassador in Pakistan? Why just bilateral sport suffer? Why not world sporting events. As I said in my earlier post it beats me why we haven't cut off all ties since only targeting cricket looks like double standards. Mybe the govt/politicians think that making an example of a high profile & visible item (cricket in this case) shows how serious India is regarding the matter, but I wish our govt & politicians had more balls.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 ^It's funny how you love guys like Wasim Akram yet hate Pakistanis:haha: Hypocrites. *inb4 I bring up Samjhota express*
Ultimate_Game Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 ^It's funny how you love guys like Wasim Akram yet hate Pakistanis:haha: Hypocrites. *inb4 I bring up Samjhota express* Liking a player has nothing to do with cutting off bilateral ties. I may like Akram, Waqar or Imran etc. but I would not want to have bilateral relations with Pakistan. The difference is that me liking a player is a personal preference whereas bilateral ties are at the state/national level. Nothing to do with hating anyone. It's simply stating that if you guys are serios then do something about the likes of Daewood Ibrahim, Maulana Azhar Syed (IIRC), 26/11 atack etc. As for Samjhota express, that should be nixed as well if it hasn't been done already.
coffee_rules Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Let me rephrase my earlier statement. The PCB doesn't have to invest too much into hosting cricket matches. As you mentioned, they received a couple of million $ without putting in any effort. Financial crisis is something the PCB isn't suffering with. We did extremely well, financially, under Butt's tenure. Perhaps the only positive. lol Not PCB, but local organisations or cricket associations will lose a lot of money if they don't get to host matches. Atleast in India, state associaltions like KSCA, would make a ton of money by hosting, and in turn they could spend on facilities, etc to get more players. Not that they do spend a lot, but atleast there was some growth locally. No wonder India saw a lot of players from small towns and not only from cities.

Pakistan has done the same, unfortunately. We are large-hearted unlike our Indian counterparts. The 2004 welcome to the Indian team and fans is something the entire world testifies to. Politics shouldn't break sporting ties. If anything, sporting fixtures are more intense and competitive.
bajrang Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 politics and diplomacy doesnt really stop even at the time of war. so no point of stopping it now. indian should not suffer financially just because Pakistani establishment is stupid. so no point in stoping trade. sports is a entirely different thing. we can chose whom we want to play.

We can see that with the likes of "hinduon ke zehneeyat", "hamaare dil zayada bade hain" comments :haha: Surprizingly or not surprizingly likes of Dhoni, Tendulkar, Dravid etc. didn't even bother respond to those kind of comments. Goes on to show who actually is "large hearted". As for Pakis being l"arge hearted" they definitely are large-hearted for the likes of Daewood Ibrahim, Maulana Azhar, Kandhar hijackers, 26/11 attackers etc. Killing of citizens and attack on the nation goes beyond politics and all ties, including sporting & cultural, deserve to be cut.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 You're doing a 360. Apologies for forgetting who I was arguing with :-)
Ultimate_Game Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 You're doing a 360. Apologies for forgetting who I was arguing with :-) Doing a 360 actually means continuing the stand you had taken, i.e. not deviating from your original viewpoint :winky: Haven't done that as I continue to state that bilateral ties between Ind-Pak should not be renewed till Pakistan shows some concrete proof of reigning in, and discontinuing, the terror attacks against India.
Sarkar Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Yes even i want all ties with Pakistan cut off until they bring 26/11 criminals to Justice you cannot sponsor terrorism on one hand and play sport with another hand.I m glad the series wont happen.

Ultimate_Game Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Thanks for pointing it out. I actually meant a 180 :winky: In that case you would be wrong as I pointed out in my previous post my viewpoint regarding the bilateral ties has ben consistent throughout.
bajrang Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 instead of derailing this thread with accusation and cross accusation pakistanis need to see it from indian's perspective. the decision to resume sporting ties only belongs to people of Mumbai. they were the one who were made to suffer and they should decide it, and as a non-mumbaikar i would and should feel terrible to wish for cricket matches with pakistan for my enjoyment. fortunately or unfortunately BCCI is in mumbai. they are in better position to observe the sentiment over there. all we can do is wait.
Jersey #10 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Good. These thugs should bet be allowed on our land. You're doing a 360. Apologies for forgetting who I was arguing with :-) :fail: Apologies for forgetting the "schools" in Pakistan "educate" on stuff other than Math and Science.

Clarke Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 What's up with the non-cricketing discussions  How long does the Asia cup last ? Edit: 11 effin days! Couldn't we squeeze in tests and skip the one dayers ? What was the plan, we were gonna play 3 tests, 5 one dayers & 2 T20s in those 11 haveimadeitLARGE days ?

It was about the cold blooded killing of innocent Indian civilians by a bunch of Pakistani b*****ds sent by their ISI handlers in Pakistan. One of my friends was killed in Leopald Cafe. He was an ordinary Banking professional having nothing to do with politics. And I know how Pakistanis feel about Indians..Many of my colleagues are Pakistanis. They were distributing sweets when India lost to South Africa in the World Cup but became very glum and silent when India won the world cup. No cricketing ties with Pakistan ...and I agree no ties at all..business, filmi or even diplomatic. The problem is the Indian politicians..they are too soft.

Oh yeah - I also saw that in the 2007 WC. I was in Singapore and when India lost to Bangladesh some people were distributing sweets in a part of the city and when I asked I was told they were Pakistanis.
CSK Fan Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Yes it's ok for singers' date= politicians, businessmen and other sports people visit each other but when it comes to cricket ghairat jaag jaati hai. Wah mere shero. Honestly this is getting ridiculous now. In 90s we were deprived of seeing arguably the best batsman in history against arguably the best pairing of fast bowlers. . Those people visit the country in their personal capacity and do not represent their nation. Pakistani goverment and the board also does not get any money from their visits.
