I live in the uk and i always see these smart Asian kids come over to study and they are extreamly smart mostly chinease and Indians. In the uk many critics complain that the education system is not testing enough for students i.e. too easy so could anyone post example of test's which an average indian kid aged 16-18 will have to sit.

Students in India are supposed to be devoted to academics with cut-throat competition to get into college. This made us battle hardened but that's about it. In the western countries (US is what i've seen) students are doing multiple things (SAT, school grades, statement of purpose, college research etc) which are all much smaller challenges although an individual is more rounded in this system. This does not however prepare them as much for the tougher degrees such as engineering.

Asian kids born in foreign countries are still smarter than the others anyway. There are a lot more factors to take into consideration as well. I'll just use this example though, take a look at a sample from Trinidad or Guyana and see how much smarter the Indian children are than the African ones. They aren't 1st, 2nd or even 3rd generation immigrants so that has little to no effect. Yet they are STILL smarter.

American education is very well rounded, systematic. From what I have seen and heard, Indian education is cut throat competition till you get into a college and then it's a little down hill from there. In America, high school is a cake walk (literally) while the college system is intense and to the point (at least the technical schools).

The education system in India is stressful at best and outdated at worst. We focus more on the foundation than the modern marvels. Its good in a way. But when we walk out of the classroom, we realize just how the past -- years were spent fighting, competing, striving to get a good grade.... and well, that it doesn't matter beyond a point, coz some Sifarishi Joe will get ahead of you, without qualifications. In college too, the universities bless students who mug up stuff from the books and write it as it is. Its as if THAT is the criteria for scoring marks. Indian education system is old, but what you learn in India, you learn NOWHERE in the world.

i have seen kids that age go to tuition at 5 am in the morning . then 8 am- 2 pm is school time. 3-5 pm is homework time and then 5- to 8 again tuition. so 9-11 hours of study is scheduled for them how much actually study is upto them.
