Zap_Brannigan Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Looking to buy new tv. Panasonic LX42 looks good at around 550£. But i can get a bigger plasma for the same price. There is a LG 42 inch 3D TV for maybe a few quids more. Although i loved 3D tv's (my office had one, for science ofcourse), i only watched animation movies in them. Besides that tv had active 3D and the LG TV has passive 3D.So for all the people with decent knowledge on the subject, Is it worth going 3D? The sky rep said that all the channels support 3D with the 3D pack but i am not sure if that is true. Even if it does, would it be a big change for HD? Note : Basic HD channels are 20£ while for 3d its 65£. Now down to Plasma Vs LED, i feel that LED TV's look better, so i am leaning towards that, but i am not sure about everything else like burn-in, reflections etc. Help me choose my TV.

If you have a light source (windows/lights) directly in front of TV, avoid Plasma. When it comes to picture quality LEDs can't match Plasma. You might find LEDs attractive because of the brightness, while Plasmas have better contrast and natural colors. For movies Plasma > LED For TV programs LED > Plasma Both technologies have their own advantages and disadvantages. So decide according to your requirements.

littlemaster1982 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 n for kirkit? For fast moving sports (such as football), Plasmas are ideal (due to low response time). But for Cricket, the difference should be negligible.
