I just can't help thinking the fact again and again that Varun Aaron has missed has missed not even a golden opportunity but a diamond opportunity. For some reason' date=' we always see new bowling heroes coming up in all Australia tours and all the bowlers takes their standards to next level. Varun would seriously been bowling at 150 case had he been there on this tour. Having seen Zaheer and Ishant raising their fitness levels, now I have no doubt in my mind. This guy can really bowl quick and quartet of Zaheer, Ishant, Umesh and Varun can be the most deadliest of all times in Indian history. Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav have the potential to become India’s best pace-trio ever, opines former Australia fast bowler, Geoff Lawson. I dont remember any era with so many 90 mph bowler. When even India have 3-4 90 mph, it tells you that era of pace is gonna be on its full tilt in the next few years. @ rkt, why are we not seeing any genuine pacer from Pakistan team these days, which is rare? Is there any new upcoming talents in Pakistan's domestic circuits in your knowledge. I have heard of Mohd Talha, he has the reputation of bowling 140+ consistently, then Aizaz Cheema occasionally bowls 140+

Mitchell Starc is another promising fast bowler that we saw today, another one from Australia. He only bowls around 136-142 (does not come in 90 mph category) but looks very sharp because of his height 6'5 and in-swing. Long way to go though......

I disagree height is the deciding factor with pace. The plus 155kph bowlers - Steyn 6' 1", Lee 6' 0", Shoaib 5' 11" and Tait 6' 3" - are hardly giants. Once a bowler gets over a certain height they seem to be told to rely on bounce rather than pace and they seem to limit out at 150kph. So for me the ideal ROCKET PACE bowler would be 5' 10" to 6' 3".

Steyn is hardly 6', according to wiki his height is 5'10 whereas on allsportspeople.com his height is 5'11 and he has never touched 155 k. I know he can go upto 150 case but not 155k. And Shaun Tait is 6'4. I have seen Shaun Tait bowling at 145-150 which is somehow playable but when he bowls at 155 case, he becomes unplayable. Remember that t20 match vs SA at MCG where he injured 2-3 players and won the match on his own.

He'd have been very useful on this wicket and in test match too when we played 4 fast bowlers. He is not a bad back-up bowler who can bowl 90 mph plus

Wonder he will completely swipe away all the fast bowlers when we will play in India. All spinners and no fast men :((

thing is he would ve done better then ishant cos his natural length is better well he has age with him next time i guess
