Trundler27 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Looking at the total lack of hunger in this 'famed' batting line-up barring sachin I can't help but think that we may even see a change as soon as the next test if we get our as*es handed to us in this match. Here's a short analysis on each of our frontline suckers.. Gambhir --> absolutely rubbish form and seems like a dead man walking at the moment Sehwag --> has the swagger but is pathetic with his running (missed a 3 at least 5-6 times yesterday). Can more than compensate with his hitting Dravid --> Age is catching up to him and he has major issues with his running as well (missed at least four or five opportunities to run a third). Didn't seem his usual assured self. Sachin --> The most fit, athletic, and energetic 38 year old in our team. Has been in good form and is looking like scoring a 100 any time now. Laxman --> Very unfit and a major major liability once he fails with the bat. No hunger or enthusiasm at the moment Kohli --> Talented and eager batter. Very good runner and excellent fielder. Decent part time bowling option. Needs more experience and this tour will definitely help So what do you all think? Who will be the casualty of the pathetic batting display this time around?
Andrew Peter Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Laxman . After the debacle in England and the ongoing one , he should be dropped .
surajmal Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 laxman, dhoni and gambhir. I would drop them in the next match. Play rahane, sharma and saha (fly in kaul).
jhakati Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Laxman . After the debacle in England and the ongoing one , he should be dropped . he the 2nd highest run getter in 2011 by an indian batsman, ru retarded?
Trundler27 Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Laxman deserves NO SPECIAL ropes here.... of late he has been scoring runs on flat wickets in india and west indies (even raina can do that).... nothing of note in england and struggling in australia too.
chainsmoker1985 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Laxman is in team only because of Australia tour. Otherwise, he is just stopping a highly talented player like Rohit Sharma. Laxman just can't score runs in conditions where ball is moving even if a bit. His feet doesn't move, neither when batting nor when fielding. I remember an incident in this match only when there were 4 slips(Sachin, Laxman, Dravid, Sehwag), ball took the edge of the bat, between the slips got to the boundary and Dhoni was the fastest to reach the boundary chasing ball. That was a sort of signal from Dhoni to big 4, that I as a keeper can chase ball faster than you wearing pads.

Tiger80 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Gambhir should be the first one to be dropped then if possible Dhoni,
the_indian_fan Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 laxman should announce his retirement after this series even if he makes 500+ in this series & get the type of retirement he deserves. no point for laxman to play another series also tendulkar should retire now. when he plays, its just about the 100th 100. only sehwag & dravid are reliable with the bat these days. gambhir is just 1 good innings away from regaining form, so u cant lump gambhir with others. also gambhir is returning after injury

Yes by the time India will 1-0 or 2-0 down Laxman will surely play another masterclass Innings and confirm his place for yet another series .
Cricketics Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 All of you should shut down your computer. Just because we lost 3 quick wickets today of DRAVID-LAXMAN-KOHLI, hence you guys have started over reacting. You guys didn't utter and were living in glory until last night when our score was 200 something for 3. That mini collapse sparked the real collapse. It happens sometimes in test cricket. Happens with every team. Let's just freakin stick to the same combination for atleast 1 more test I say. Also this test is not over by any means. Don't know what kind of bullshyt cricket you guys watch which make you all think that this game is over.
Jersey #10 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Virat for Rohit...simple as that We really can't afford to do without Gambhir...he's a class of his own.

All I meant was that at 37 he is not as good as some of the other players that are his age (kallis, pontu, sachin).

Trundler27 Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Yea let's hope this collapse is just a one-off thing and that they get back to the glorious performance of the england tour soon Tbh, the batters have been doing this for the past year now. Let's all calm down a touch..... this is just a general discussion based on the recent batting performance over the past few series.
goose Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Very disappointing but that was a masterclass in line and length from Aus.
chainsmoker1985 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 In fact, there shud be thread 'When will India score 300+' coz they have not done that in the last 8-10 test matches. Bloody clowns.
