There's one tried and tested approach - win or draw the 1st test of the series. Every major away series win for India came when India managed to remain unbeaten in the 1st Test. Loss in the 1st test has generally cost us the series and this time will be no different. This series has gone and the best we can do is draw the series, which in itself is disappointing.

We have the best batsmen in the world, they need to get out of this mess. We play bounce well, we have done in the past. I can see us making a comeback. The problem is that we have to win 2 of the remaining 3 tests and draw the remaining test to win the test. Considering we have hardly won 2 away tests in a series, you can hardly call me pessimistic regarding India's chances. As for the best batsman in the world, one batsman doesn't do much - case in point Lara in a poor WI team. We need a collective batting effort and even SRT hasn't scored any big ones in a long time. 70s, 80s or 90s don't win you matches, big 100s do. It has already been 8 Tests since SRT scored a 100 and don't think he's gonna score any this series.

Batsmen pull out the ramp shot, stand a bit further to negate the length, easy said then done with the pace Aussies are bowling at,play aggressive, hook , pull, depending on field positions in the air or dab em for few runs. Aussies get unnerved when u come hard at them , their batting line up is frail, once we bat well, we will win , Dhoni play aggresssive , do not use defensive tactic, only way that will go is loss.Sehwag, Gambhir, Sachin, Dravid,Laxman, Ashwin I believe have it in them to score and have done it in all conditions, our bowling now can raise the bar as everyone had a good bowl.Zaheer, Ishant need to bowl sharp in Zaks case , smart in Ishant's case, Ashwin will do better in Sydney.Most worrying factors Dhoni, Virat, he might get dropped for the next test.

To whitewash India, Oz must stop Sehwag, Tendulkar: Ian Chappell

Former Test captain Ian Chappell feels that if Australia can shut down Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar they can inflict a 4-0 whitewash on India like England did during the summer. "If Australia can shut down both Sehwag and Tendulkar, then India could well be propelled on a downhill slide similar to their recent precipitous one in England, which ended in a 4-0 series thrashing," he said. Chappell said stopping Sehwag will be crucial in restricting India's scoring. The former Australian captain said that by dismissing Sehwag early, Australia can reduce the Indian line-up's effectiveness by around 50 per cent. "The length the Australians are currently bowling is the most testing the belligerent opener can face. He (Sehwag) loves it short outside off stump, but the Australians, operating on a fuller length, are more likely to exploit his lack of foot movement," said Chappell in his column in The Sunday Telegraph.
