Terrific fighter, great servant to Indian cricket and a great great player. But he HAS to go now for the sake of India. He has definitely lost it to be point where his playing and India's interests are irreconcilable. Absolutely unreliable in the slips these days. Bowled 3 times through the gate in this series ( counting the Siddle no ball ). Age has caught up with him for the worse now. Dravid you champ, please do India a favor ! You are legend !

i dont think he was EVER a great player to be honest. you wanna see dravid at his best? take a look at what he 'did' in australia in 1999, south africa home and away in 2000 and 2001, australia at home in 2004, south africa in 2006. i urge anyone who reads this post to look at the man's STATS on those tours. those are top quality bolwing attacks. see what your HERO did against those teams and against those bowlers and THEN TELL ME IF U THINK HE DESERVES TO BE CALLED A GREAT PLAYER. great players do well against great teams. he has never done that. good riddance to bad rubbish. **** off dravid, you 'CHAMP'. and dont let the door hit u on the way out, you piece of ****.

Nope. He still has cricket left in him. VVS needs to go first.

The phase out has to start FAST ,now. It must start with Dravid. Laxman too must go in 2012. We cannot travel with 3, 38 year old+ guys for ever.
Well we won't.... coz starting next year they will all be 39 year olds..... so exciting ain't it.

Manny, he has had his share of failures. But don't be too harsh on him by just counting his failures. He has single handedly won us tests in Adelaide, Rawalpindi, Headingley and saved many matches for us overseas. Played a sterling role in Kolkata against Australia. He has been by far our best batter in English conditions - even this time he scored 3 tons when the entire batting was falling like a pack of cards. He is not perfect and not the greatest but a great player none the less. He must go now though.

First bad match(still scored 80 runs, second only to srt)for him after almost a year and people want him dropped! For gods sake he is the highest run getter in the world this year. No one should be dropped this is not the first time we are loosing a match in aus. When was the last time we won a boxing day test match huh...

i disagree. u need to go look at those series i pointed out. playing england isnt the same as playing SA or the aussies. headingley wasn't just about him, it was tendulkar with 193, ganguly with 120 and kumble/harbajan. adelaide wasn't just him either, you had laxman making 148 and agarkar 6/41 bowling australia out for 197, an effort without which we would have never won. rawalpindi was a DEAD pitch and the real heroes were irfan pathan and balaji who bowled pakistan out for 220 in the first innings. take out their massive efforts and u have a DRAW. TO CLAIM THAT DRAVID 'SINGLEHANDEDLY' WON US THESE GAMES IS A BLATANT FALSEHOOD AT THE VERY LEAST AND PATHETIC HERO WORSHIPPING AT BEST.

Lets wait for the end of the series. Then we have 2 years of series mostly in Sub continent. We should use this time to retire all three Big 3 and probably Sehwag too and blood youngsters. All the youngsters should have had enough experience and confidence in test cricket before we go for some testing tours in 2014. No point clinging with Sachin Dravid and Laxman after this series.Time to build the batting line up for future like we did it with the bowling attack.

The scoring team guys in my office have also started suggesting that Sachin is not a true champion as he does not revel under pressure. I say lets make the big 3 to retire after this match itself. :strike:We will see the real deal players then.

:hatsoff::hatsoff::hatsoff: for exposing the myth . Noticed how the claims are made that Dravid won us even the headingly Test Single Handedly  Tendulkars 193 are considered negligible automatically .

IF zaheer can stay healthy, India should able to defend the home turf as the old guys are phased out. But this series should be a wake up call. You can't have the old guard dictating when and where they'll call it quits. Time is now.
