Article in Cricinfo summed it correctly if VVS in Australian pitch against Australian attack with India down in all the 6 innings (when he walked in) cannot perform then something is terribly wrong with him.

The oldies will never retire, unfortunately in India we have this attitude of clinging on as long as we can, even when are past our best, drop VVS for Adelaide and bring in Rohit Sharma, we need to look at the future and not depend on the past anymore. This is why we have struggle and will continue to do so, Dravid is another one that needs to step aside and retire, the has come to force the issue with these guys, but the BCCI will never do it, they don't really give a **** as long as they are lining their pockets.

It pains me when i see articles stating that the troika are irreplaceable.. yes that might be true in individual terms but in collective terms i guess they can.. sadly cricket is not seen as a team game here n India and is filled with indvidual records... the best example of the team composition was seen with the 90s NZ team. no individual ATG but as a collective unit they always performed... Lets remember that it took 79 innings for sachin to score his first 100. because of quota system we were not able to get the best of players.. but we could persist with sachin in ODIs.. and see the rich dividends we got.. i dont know if a current generation top order batsman can survive for 79 ODIs without a century and hold on to his place no matter how classy he looks?? i think we need to give our youngsters some solid time to find their feet... Dravid took really long to score his first century.. with laxman it was more than 30 innings i guess... when the ATGs can get so much leeway why not the kohli's sharma's tiwaris etc.. and laxman should not rob an youngster of his place.. if they cannot peform collectively then its time to move on. i would much rather have 3 players who collectively put on 200 runs consistently than the troika who look really aged to me.. Laxman please retire gracefully and dont undo the goodwill by playing the last match and miserably failing... because if at all he fails and we lose in adelaide badly it would be a sad end to an illustrious career... nobody is going to forget the 4-0 drubbing and persistence with seniors... and if at all R sharma becomes a ATG.. laxman's memory would be synonymous with the imagfe of a person who made R sharma wait unnecessarily.. laxman , Understand and opt out of last test no matter how Rohit performs...

VVS and Dravid are not going to retire gracefully, VVS has already said he will cling on as long as he can, he needs to be dropped for Adelaide and Rohit Sharma needs to settle in, it's a joke how these guys are clinging on, I have lost respect for VVS.

No thanks' date=' Dravid is old and slow, would rather we blood some young keepers and Saha needs to be given game time.[/quote'] chances of us winning increase with rohit there saha will most probably fail with bat..

VVS should be dropped, Rohit Sharma in for VVS and Saha in for Dhobi, Batting order would be: 1. Shitwag 2. GG 3. Rohit Sharma 4. Tendulkar. 5. Dravid 6. Ashwin 7. Saha

The way we are playing overseas we might as well just pick 9 quick bowlers and 2 spinners. :winky:
nah i trust players like pujara, kohli to step up once gr8's retire would like rahane to come into team quickly ooks like a proper test batsman..needs some experience but he will fare better then likes of raina, yuvraj
