Laaloo Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 .....that this Laxman will retire after this series. After this tour, we don't play a test match for another 6 months and that too is in SL. He's a liability anywhere else in the field when he's not in the slips. In addition, with aussies preparing green pitches and setting him perfectly with fuller lengths on the offside, I will be surprised if he manages to score a century on this tour. I would love to be proved wrong though B->
Andrew Peter Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Any contributions made by him after the series gets sealed in favour of the Aussies ( or even Draw ) shouldnt count .
BERGKAMP Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 dravid and tendu should go too. it is time for a major overhaul. this is the team i would like to see for the next series - mukund rahane pujara rohit kohli bist kaul ashwin ishant umesh aaron
Laaloo Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Need to get Sharma in ASAP. Who cares if he fails this series? He needs the experience of playing in Australia. So the next time he comes, he doesn't look clueless. Need to play him now instead of flat tracks in Lanka.
ganeshran Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 dravid and tendu should go too. it is time for a major overhaul. this is the team i would like to see for the next series - mukund rahane pujara rohit kohli bist kaul ashwin ishant umesh aaron This team wont win even at home.

Never heard of him. Which side does he plays for?
Cricket Tragic Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 He said in an interview 2 weeks back that he hasn't even thought of retirement. :dontknow:
Laaloo Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 He said in an interview 2 weeks back that he hasn't even thought of retirement. :dontknow: Judging from his batting and fielding and since aussies will prepare green pitches for the rest of the tour, it's over for him. There's no point of him playing after this tour anyways. Who do we play next? SL? NZ?

Dravid_TheWall Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 You guys are thinking completely wrong. You think replacing our big three will lead us forward, lol we will just get thrashed more. We have gone downhill since Fletcher came. Sack him. For our batsmen it is a mental thing. I don't think they are preparing well anymore for overseas tours. It seems they are being outplanned by opposition. Gambhir is out of form but for the likes of Sehwag and Lax, opposition knows how to bowl to them and they keep falling for the same crap. We need a strict coach to help plan-it seems we just go out to bat and let it take care of itself, that clearly isn't working. Captain should have a role to play in this but clearly Dhoni is too relaxed. Also too powerful now for anyone to do anything about him. And start to groom in Rohit and Pujara. Lax should go and drop Kohli for now. Rahane is not ready for international cricket full stop, seen him play a few times and looks a typical ranji boy at sea in international matches when the ball is bouncing/moving. Mukund showed guts on england tour and would like to see more of him. Wasim Jaffer may have to comeback for short term if GG continues in this manner.
maniac Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Looking at the likes of Gambhir,Raina,Yuvraj,Kohli play in tests.......It's funny that people even think about replacing the big 3.... It's not like we have talent waiting in the wings....Let us see how Rohit will do....Not having highhopes but just like the Op said with Laxman....Loved to be proved wrong though
Ram Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Anyone who under-estimates VVS are setting themselves up for a massive egg-on-face. I am willing to bet my house that the guy will deliver this tour.

vamos_rafa Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Explain Because he did not, single-handedly, win the MSCG test.
Jersey #10 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Because he did not' date=' single-handedly, win the MSCG test.[/quote'] :hysterical: still the highest run scorrer in the team :cantstop: Are we still talking about a team sport? :giggle: Awesome logic! Drop the best batsman in the team just because his age is 38. What's age got to do with cricket as long as he's scoring?
vamos_rafa Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 :hysterical: still the highest run scorrer in the team :cantstop: Are we still talking about a team sport? :giggle: I was being sarcastic :((
Jersey #10 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I was being sarcastic :(( souvy :(( I think the logic is that since most cricketers retire at this age, Sachin should too. Well, most cricketers don't score 99 centuries in international cricket either, do they? :icflove:
