And what's this **** about him telling bowlers to slow down? People only look at the big names. David Saker has been an excellent coach despite only being an average FC bowler. Cooley was good as well though he hasn't had the same impact in Australia.

Plus, you don't have to sacrifice pace for accuracy - Lee, steyn, akthar are examples of control and speed. Agree about 'unsung' coaches doing well. Cooley I feel has been found out badly as he has not really done an amazing job TBH in Aussie. Saker in England is 'doing no harm' and appears to be getting on well. I don't know enough to say if he is a good 'coach'.

Desi Cartman Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 When the bowlers are always carrying serious injuries, I am sure the coach cant push them for more training. Having said that, I think we have had enough of the current bowling coach.

NO..he is not more the head coach at MRF. It is Sentthilnathan now.
adi B Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 no bowling coach can make these stupid bowlers to improve.... the indian bowlers will themselves have to analyse what went wrong, work on a plan nd execute on the field, rather than giving a gay smile to the batsman after getting smacked for 4 :headshake:

Harshal Patel looks a real prospect under his coaching. :two_thumbs_up: I read in the Indian Express that Amit Mishra asked for advice and Pont the bowling coach provided a couple of excellent tips. 'Not only is he giving inputs to the bowlers, he is also constantly motivating them. Pont has had a positive impact on the team since the day he joined', said Mishra. I honestly feel that during his 4 years with Haryana we will reap the rewards. It's just a shame as I think he is only with Haryana for 60 days a year. Can an IPL team pick him up?
ChanaLal Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 ^^good to hear. and talking of harshal do u know what kind of bowler he is ,ie height ,seam/swing ,pace ? From reports he bowls around 140 kph. I read this is something he is working on with the coach to improve. Harshal Patel is an out swing bowler and can also bowl cutters. He looks to be about 6 feet tall and extremely fit. Everything I have read about him suggests he is a 'smart' bowler. He is still learning his trade but does seem to be one to watch
