1983-2011 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Bloody unbelievable money. When they get paid extravagantly playing the IPL and most importantly' date=' are not marginalized out of the team, the fire to play for India is bound to diminish.[/quote'] Is he going to be paid Rs 10.59-13.2 crores or just 20% of that amount because Rs 10.59-13.2 crores is the agreed fee between KXIP and MI for the exchange of the players. It will be ridiculous if he is going to be paid Rs 10.59-13.2 crores:nono:

1983-2011 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 he will get just 20% & KXIP get 80% that seems reasonable, so will he paid $900,000 that he was bought for by KXIP originally or 20% of his transfer fee as a new amount?

The 20% that comes the way of the player is given to him on a pro-rata basis. If he is unavailable for 25% of the games for whatever reason, he gets only 75% of the 20% that was his initial transfer fee. That was the rule the last time around. But best wait till auction day. They release a copy of the contract the players sign to the press. It has many such disclaimers. Love reading those IPL contracts. :desiman:
shinchan Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 where did you get that from? its in every newspaper...or check crickinfo

achilles Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 A dummies guide to the economics of the IPL You wrote it? Edit- Just opened it. Its too short. Doesn't seem to be your work, no? :D
Mariyam Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 You wrote it? Edit- Just opened it. Its too short. Doesn't seem to be your work, no? :D Definitely not my work. I have a signature style. 5 different people can interpret what I write in 10 different ways. I never write to the point, as it minimizes the chance of controversy. :P

Params7 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 If only this kind of payment would be in international cricket..I still hope IPL dies and all the teams go bankrupt.
1983-2011 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 The talk in the franchise circle is that Karthik was bought for $2.3 million, $1.4 million more than his price. As per the IPL rule, 20 per cent of surplus money goes to the player. Which means, Karthik, whose original price was $900,000, is entitled to 20 per cent of the $1.4 million dividend KXIP got by selling him. He gets to keep $280,000 more than his price this year. I understand the transfer rule now:secret:
