Sorry but gona have to disagree with my favourite all time player! Ashwin has not had the chance to bowl on day 5 wicket (not that it would have offered much assistance) and look good in the first test - just think how ineffective Lyon has also been, shows there is nothing for spinners. Sydney he bowled alot of wides which got smacked but the team made much worse errors. Also dont think Ashwin has more variations than Ojha apart from line and length however he is more suited to this wicket due to the bounce. Ashwin cant be picked soley for his batting as we need to sort out the top order first, but interesting if he can be consistant he could become a batting alrounder maybe slight better than Jadega.

Well said Ganguly, this thread exposes some of the hypocrites who are crying fowl now about flat tracks, batsmen failure.. blah blah but did not stop Bhajji bashing in a similar situation during the England tour, even then batsmen sucked, but only Bhajji was targeted Two-faced scums :finger:
The difference is Bhajji has been under performing for nearly 2 years including tests at home.Ashwin has underperformed in just one match.Huge difference

That is plain dumb - you can't just drop the second highest run scorer, no matter what - and he has done nothing wrong to get dropped. You can drop a batsman and play Ojha though, no point in playing too many batsmen anyways. I would rather us go all attacking, no matter what the result is. Aussie side is still weak, despite their good performance off late.

There was nothing in the wickets for him in the two tests but he still bowled too short and wide. A tighter line and length would have been effective to stop the run flow and that's really what's expected of him. Maybe he was too nervous in his first overseas tour. I dont agree that spinners are ineffective as a rule in Australia. Kumble got wickets there and he never turned the ball much. He bowled a very good line and length and knew how to set up the batsmen and used his variations effectively. Ashwin is similar to him in some ways. But dropping him should be out of the question. This is only his first series in Aus, he will learn and he has been good with the bat. He also seems like a thinking cricketer.

replacing ashwin with ojha means, tail starts at 4 down and no one will contribute even a bit since 4 down.... the guy is very important batsman in our team, his bowling hasnt been great but if he`s intelligent enough, he can work that out by not bowling crappy deliveries.... i dont think ojha will do anygood at waca, maybe just hold one end, but his balls would be same as bhajji darts

bhajji would have conceded thousand runs at sydney+ would have got out 1st ball getting a brainfart to smash it for 6
