Ram Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Admittedly, most of us here like cricket the most. But , which sport do you like to play the most ? The one thing i DONT like about cricket is that , you can play one full day of this game without even breaking into a sweat. Its not that physically intensive , unless you are a fast bowler. There are prolonged periods of time when all you do is wait in one corner of the field hoping the ball comes to you so that you can get involved. I simply hate that. For me , my favourite is basketball. Its so much a skill based sport , unlike cricket which is (skill+mental). And what i like most basketball is that , unlike cricket , 40 mins of full-court basketball is almost certain to leave you panting and gasping. Besides, there is no greater feeling than drilling a 3-pointer from far out. Its a feeling akin to hitting a real big six and watching the ball sail over everyone. My favourite pecking order would be Basketball Tennis/ Table Tennis Cricket Pool. Whats yours ?
kumble_rocks Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 My favorite sports to play in no particular order would be Soccer Golf Tennis Table Tennis Cricket Pool Volleyball My favorite sports to watch in no particular order would be Golf Tennis Soccer Cricket American Football Baseball Basketball Beach Volleyball(Only women) Field Hockey

Ram Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 My favorite sports to watch in no particular order would be Golf !!! Tennis Soccer Cricket American Football Baseball Basketball Beach Volleyball(Only women) Field Hockey KR , i can understand you liking to play Golf the most , but how the hell are you able to watch it ? I tried to watch golf. All i saw was , a guy will be practising mock swings at the balls for 5 mins , will finally give it a go . The camera will zoom in on the skies as we have no idea where the ball is , and lo behold ! , all of a sudden the ball would end near a hole ! The whole crowd claps , the player lifts his cap and acknowledges the cheers and shakes hands with his caddie. He then proceeds on to walk to somewhere. The SAME thing happens, again and again and again. Bloody boring ! I wouldnt watch golf even if i was paid to !
MundaPakistani Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Favorite sports to play are tennis and cricket followed by table tennis. To enjoy other sports like basketball, squash and soccer you have to be in great shape which i am not:tounge_smile:
CC1981 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 My order of playing sports: 1. Tennis 2. badminton 3. Cricket 4. Soccer

Anyways , sometime laterz, l will explain in detail , I am in read mode today , got too much work.
Ram Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 My fav "watching" order would be **ANY international level cricket. Doesnt matter who plays. I have stayed up whole nights to watch West Indies play Zimbabwe ** NBA basketball ** F1 ** Grand slam Tennis ** Olympics/ World championship level athletics. ** European Football.
CC1981 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Golf is too slow-paced for me. whack a ball and then walk for five minutes and then spend another 5 searching for the ball...if i were to walk around 90% of the time searching for something, i'd rather search for shrooms or truffles.:cantstop:
CC1981 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Fav to watch **: 1. Tennis 2. Cricket 3. Ice Hockey 4. Formula 1 5. Footy **: Assumes that it is a good quality game..if the game is sucking, i'd rather watch something else, really. Sometimes, some sports (such as F1) are easier to watch in short lil 5-min snips. Worst sports to watch(no order): Golf Curling badminton Table tennis Squash basketball Baseball American footy Rugby Cycling Come to think of it, most sports are pretty unwatchable for me.
Gambit Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Sports I enjoy playing the most are: 1. Cricket 2. Tennis - I can whoop any ICFer in a game. 3. Badminton - I've played district level in India. I would cremate/bury any ICFer in a game. 4. Football - Even ICFers like headcoach(>60) or Parth(
CC1981 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 2. Tennis - I can whoop any ICFer in a game. One day i'll take you up on that. 3. Badminton - I've played district level in India. I would cremate/bury any ICFer in a game.:congrats::congrats: One day, maybe i could learn how to smash from you- i used to be really interested in badminton- could serve, drop shot and block back smashes very well- but never got beyond 'just another decent kid' at it coz i can't smash worth cr@p, except the ones that go to the back of the court. Only so much you can do when the average point is a blockfest of other guy's smash-fests in 50% of the cases. 4. Football - Even ICFers like headcoach(>60) or Parth(<12) would whoop my ass.Same here. All i was good at was running.

CC1981 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Levels are for mortals. I am above levels MP. Rest assured, you will feel privileged not disappointed or dejected after receiving a hiding from me. All its missing is a 'tun-tun-dun', lightining flash and a dood with a flaming hand, wearing a cape. :haha::D

Only so much you can do when the average point is a blockfest of other guy's smash-fests in 50% of the cases. Smashing isn't that difficult. My technique doesn't involve jumping. I stand on my toes and aim for an extremely sharp trajectory.(think of a 30-60-90 triangle with hypotenuse as the trajectory I would advise aiming for to start with)
