Well his brother despite being in the Aussie team for the world cup couldn't get a hit in the world cup. I'm sure this Hussey can be used as a substitute fielder :P Also have a second look at that table, out of the top 5 there are 4 Aussies. That says how much gap there is between English cricket and the Aussies.

Also interesting to note there are two Pakistani leg spinners atop both bowling aggregate tables. Mushy and Kaneria have 50 wickets apiece. Equal second to Mushy in first division are Warney and Rana Naved (33 wickets each) with Murali in 4th. place. Second to DK in division 2 is the almost 39 y.o. Andy Caddick.

Ok, although that's just this CC season. Most Aussie batsmen have better figures in CC than their overall first class record. Dave Hussey's overall is: 104 matches for 27 centuries. His average is 54.36 with a strike rate of 71.

Wow ! That is almost a carbon copy of Hrishikesh Kanitkar's FC record - Over 7500 runs , at an average of 54 , with 26 hundreds and 27 fifties. Bad luck to Dave Hussey for being born the same era as some of the great Australians ! Btw, Has Damien Martyn totally retired from playing cricket ? Or is he still playing competitive cricket ?

Retired from all forms of cricket. Yes, Huss the younger may never get to play at the top level and join players like Darren Lehmann, Jamie Siddons, Stuart Law etc. who were also 'born in the wrong era'. After Boof was 12th. man in a Test as a 19 y.o. prodigy, he had to wait for 10 years to play his next one - all the time averaging in the high 50s for South Australia and Victoria.. Stuart Law played one Test, scoring 54 n.o. and never got another look in. Siddons was a prolific scorer at state level but only ever played once for Australia, a one dayer. He was dismissed by Wasim Akram for 32 in Lahore in '88. An interesting sidelight from that ODI. Both teams scored 229 but Pakistan was awarded the win as they lost 1 less wicket.
