November 2010 began the gauntlet for India. We had 3 away series' against South Africa, England and Australia in the space of a year and (assuming we lose this match and the next), our record is: Played 11: Won 1 Drew 1 Lost 9 Doesn't make for pretty reading. At the end of next year, it begins all over again. We tour South Africa in December '13, England in July '14 and Australia in December '14. India as a team need to start to preparing to run the gauntlet again and exact revenge. However, this time we most likely won't have Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman and probably not Zaheer (given his run of injuries) for any of those matches. What would you have as your test side by then Mine would be: 1. Ajinkya Rahane 2. Gautam Gambhir © 3. Cheteswhar Pujara 4. Rohit Sharma 5. Virat Kohli 6. Dinesh Karthik / Parthiv Patel 7. Ravichandran Ashwin 8. Irfan Pathan 9. Praveen Kumar / Ishant Sharma (provided Ishant has spent a season in county cricket) 10. Pragyan Ojha 11. Umesh Yadav Rest of the squad: Suresh Raina, Manoj Tiwary, Murali Vijay, Varun Aaron, Manish Pandey, Deepak Chahar, RP Singh. I think we'll have to become a team which has a couple of all-rounders and has 5 batsmen and 5 bowlers every match. 3 pace bowlers and 2 spinners allows us the flexibility to handle most wickets. I think its important not to completely discard those such as Raina, Gambhir and Kohli who struggled in these tours. Its their responsibility now to step up and improve and be the experienced figureheads for the next tours. What would be your side?

i think squad would be like this gambhir sehwag/mukund rahane pujara kohli rohit dhoni(he hasnt done bad for wicket keeper imo) bowling line idk yadav, ashwin, ojha would be there would like to see arron in there along with playersl ike nechim ,dinda etc as replacements from now on no tundlers otherwise history would repeat itself

If Aaron can control his line, then he could be a handy Test bowler. The problem is he is not a bouncy bowler like Yadav, he is very skiddy and if he strays down leg he could get absolutely carted. I also feel he bowls a bit too close to the stumps so his away-swingers swing out of the hand. But he definitely has the potential. He needs to angle it in and then move it away.

We play 11 tests or so in between, too early to pick a side. A lot can change in a series or two. Sehwag and Gambhir have been out of form in home games as well, lets see if they can redeem themselves in upcoming home season.

Praveen Kumar should make it to the list for overseas tests. Sehwag should be dropped. He is good only for sub-continent pitches.
no. he should move down the order. once ball stops moving he's very dangerous.

I would like to see uthappa as an opener in test team...Though he has average domestic record who knows he can be warner on bouncy pitches...he is good against short pitch bowling.

Praveen kumar would have been failed in australia like vinay kumar coz in australia fast bowlers are needed as there is not more swing like in england..also legspineer would have been ideal like kumble or chandana.
