Aftermath of India's pathetic tour of England and losses in Australia, it was sad for BCCI's Shukla , Srinivasan, Dhoni giving a sorry excuse that it is ok to loose to OZ so badly as we will beat them in India.India the worlds largest cricket playing nation, 1/6 of the population of the globe, cricket crazy public, richest sports body in the country, enough talent to make a world beating side. What I want to hear is yes we have lost badly , we will have a honest evaluation of our team, selectors, infrastructure, ground level talent scouting, scheduling and planning. What we want is a responsible sports body which is answerable to the public, it is the public which makes it the richest sports body, also the more India wins the more money BCCI can make, there should be a honest evaluation of the captain, team, selectors, domestic circuit, NCA, I am sure astute thinkers and players like Saurav, Shastri along with a consultant appointed to be the link between NCA, STATE TEAMS, pitches, talent scouting in various zones, where a player like Vengsaraker can do duty. Steps that need to be taken. Pitches have to be sporty , so even 4 day games will be competetive, where faster bowlers, Batsmen and then spinners can each play a role from start towards the end. Domestic Ranji is badly scheduled, there needs to be a serious change to the way the teams are picked up , point system should award more points for wins .Lets get in professionalism to Ranji's as BCCI can do it in IPL, LIVE TELECAST, Sponsors, boards benefitting monetarily based on performance also, finding talent, cricket under lights, foreign players. BCCI should represent entire country is Bihar not in India, hold talent hunt in remote locations thru state asssociations , catch em young. Seperate teams for ODI'S , TEST'S, also captains, selectors being held accountable, and providing a road map as a five year plan, what will be done to take India to number one in test's, with IPL AND THE AMOUNT OF CRICKET PLAYED IT IS ALL THE MORE IMPORTANT TO HAVE SEPERATE TEAMS FOR ODI'S , TEST'S,also better injury management and world class coaching at NCA. SELECTING A POOL OF ROOKIES WHO HAVE PROMISE TO TRAIN AT NCA AND ALSO SEND PLAYERS ON A TOURS TO GAIN EXPERIENCE OUTSIDE THE SUBCONTINENT.:hatsoff: INDIA HAS DONE IT IN THE PAST HAVE WON EVERYWHERE , WE WERE NUMBER ONE ALSO LAST TOUR WE WERE CHEATED OF A SERIES WIN IN AUSTRALIA ALSO SA SERIES WIN WAS OUR FOR TAKING, LET US PLAN , GROOM, TAKE MEASURES TO BE A CHAMPION TEAM, NUMBER ONE TEST, ODI, T20:dance:

Problem is BCCI has never been pro active, always been no planning, good things happen here due to accident , in this case when we had Dada, Dravid, Tendulkar, Zaheer , Laxman play in the same decade learning and then using their talent and experience to be number one test side also credit due to the then selectors MORE, VENGSARKAR, BORDE, Ganguly, Kirsten, Wright

Its not the seniors.. its teh short sightedness of BCCI and inability to think long term.. before IPL the only way to get into indian team was through Ranji.. so everyone toiled hard and as luck would have it we were lucky to get genius'es.. now the only way to get recognized is IPL and we know hitting 30..40 in IPL is no rocket science.. leading to lower motivation to do the grind coz we anyways make good bucks in IPL.. sadly the quality of input is deteriorating and we might have killed the golden goose... we could become like windies or pak of the last 2-3 years and thats it the game would be dead.. read vengsarkar's article on need to improve domestic system.. i think thats the key and most importantly reintroduce the talent scouts and penalize state teams for stupid test wickets especially saurashtra and rajasthan... the problem again is not with seniors but abject quality of domestic cricket and medieval age selection policies

The problem with the pitches, selections, domestic cricket is it allows mediocre players to flourish, most highest runs getters and wicket taking bowlers are flat track bullies and trundlers.Sporting wicket, talent scouting and better selections will see that the real talent comes thru. Our domestic giants VK, MITHUN, SUDHINDRA, BADRINATH WOULD NOT EVEN GET A SPOT IN COUNTY OR AUSSIE DOMESTIC A TEAMS OR EVEN B TEAMS LOL.

Sorry we have not won everywhere we beat a pathetic WI side 1 - in the WI we beat England when they weren't so good 1 - 0 in England we have never won a series in Australia or SA and that is truly pathetic, we have the worst win/loss record of any side playing away from home.

Unfortunately the BCCI don't give a cr@p. The seniors will have to step down soon, but it will only hide a more serious problem. Our domestic competition and more specifically our domestic pitches aren't producing players who have the technique to handle seaming and bouncy tracks.

But we want to be World Champions, World No.1 in Tests and hold every trophy in our cabinet. Thats what the great Australian side of the late 90s and early-to-mid 00's did. That should be the goal of our cricket team. I get a bit irritated when I read Michael Clarke who has a column in an Australian newspaper, openly stating his goal is to take Australia to No.1 in the world, and meanwhile MS Dhoni's goal is to "enjoy his cricket".

BCCI unlikely to move against senior players Tuesday, January 17, 2012 New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), though disturbed by the back-to-back setbacks in England and Australia, will refrain from taking a call on the careers of under-performing senior players. Team India going through transitional phase, says board secretary Sanjay Jagdale. © AFP “Whether the seniors should retire or be dropped is something to be decided by the selectors or the players themselves. The board can’t interfere in this matter,” said BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale. Asked if the Indian Premier League (IPL) was the reason for India not finding youngsters good enough for Test cricket, he said everything can’t be blamed on the IPL. “It has its positives and negatives.” Admitting that India’s overseas showing has been horrendous of late, he said every team going through a transitional phase has endured such setbacks, including the mighty Australia and England. “It’s impossible to produce cricketers of the calibre of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. So, these things will happen,” he said, implying that Indians fans should prepare themselves for more agony. He said some plans to resurrect the plunging fortunes of Indian cricket were on the anvil. “First and foremost, we are focussing on restructuring domestic cricket — infrastructure, playing conditions and especially wickets. You can’t expect youngsters who have grown up on Indian wickets to perform on bouncy and seaming wickets all at once. It’s important to prepare good wickets, and the knockouts in the Ranji Trophy this year were played on difficult wickets,” said Jagdale. “We are waiting for Sourav Ganguly, chairman of the BCCI’s technical committee. We will sit down with him and discuss how to refurbish our domestic cricket,” he said. HT Content & Syndication Service This seems to be a bit heartening, I would want a new test capt, new selectors,Gimmy can stay as the chairman of selectors.

The appaling performance of the team has much to do with the selectors and captain, now we have lost our third series in a row very dismally, looks like lessons have not been learnt at all, Cheeka and co are a bunch of jokers, so is BCCI. MOST OF US FANS HAD PREDICTED THIS RESULT WITH THE TRUNDLER BATTERY THAT WE HAD SELECTED FOR THE TOUR, iRFAN CAN BE THE ONLY 130 TO 135 PACER IN THE TEAM AS AN ALLROUNDER, WHAT iNDIA NEEDS IS SOME FASTER MEN IN TEST'S AND ODI'S ALSO A RADICAL CHANGE IN DHONI'S THOUGHT PROCESS AND A CHANGE IN SELECTORS. We rather play rookies Suyal, Shami, Anwar Ahmed, Abu Nechim , Gony, Aaron, Umesh, Tyagi,Parmeswaram , we might find some good bowler , as all these have pace. Munaf can be the senior bowler with Irfan , we can't afford trundlers, PK, vk, and looser Jadeja at the moment, Rahul Sharma, Iqbal Abdulla can come in as spinners. Our pace attack if I can call it one has been the worst among the test playing nations, not for lack of talent but selections, injury management and poor foresight, a good bowling attack is a bigger factor in winning ODI'S and test's then batting. Ideal scenario Cheeka resigns with his joker buddies, Ganguly takes over, Dhoni is injured Gauti , Sehwag, Virat takeover captaincy, Dhoni not a very bad odi captain , but very defensive in selections, field placings also happy with his buddies and loves trundlers and guys like Jadeja.
