If recent scores are looked into, 350 would be a par score. Batting eventually becomes easy, and most matches have been decided on the basis of first innings scores only. :nervous: :nervous:

Both are pretty equally matched teams. East's pace battery is slightly better than North, but North's spinner (Amit Mishra) is way more experienced than Shahbaz Nadeem of the East. In terms of keeping, East has an edge with Wriddhiman Saha, whereas North has Punit Bisht. In terms of batting, North's Rahul Diwan + Mandeep Singh + Mayank Sidhana + Rajat Bhatia (Shikhar Dhawan not mentioned due to indifferent form :--D) is a bit stronger than East with Dheeraj Jadhav + Natraj Behera + Ishank Jaggi + Anustup Majumdar. Should be a good, fun match :fear: :nervous:

Duleep Trophy- Semi Finals - South Zone vs Central Zone - North Zone vs East Zone North Zone vs East Zone NEW DELHI: It will be a battle between the eternal bridesmaids of Duleep Trophy and the 17-time champions when East Zone square up against North in the semifinal at the Ferozeshah Kotla on Saturday. Riding high on confidence after ousting the formidable West Zone last week, Nataraj Behara's East Zone would be fancying their chances to make the final after six years and go a step further in the quest for their maiden title. The addition of Wriddhiman Saha does bolster East Zone's chances against the 17-time champions. For skipper Behara, these are exciting times. "To have a chance to qualify for the final is definitely exciting for us. Having Wriddhiman in the line-up is a huge advantage," said Behara, who conceded that leading the side makes him nervous. While East Zone have just played last week, the North Zone squad will be taking the field in a first-class match after a longish break since the Ranji Trophy ended in early January. However, skipper Amit Mishra backs his resources to do the job. "We have some young players who are performing. We also have the home advantage," said Mishra. With the Kotla wicket flaunting a thick layer of grass, both teams would start on an even keel having got this season's prolific pacers in their sides. North Zone have the surging Parwinder Awana, Haryana's sensation Harshal Patel (with two successive eight-fors in the last two Ranji matches) and Pradeep Sangwan's experience in their arsenal. Similarly East will enjoy the services of in-form Ashok Dinda, Abu Nechim and Basant Mohanty. Right-arm pacer Dinda impressed the national selectors with a rich haul of 37 wickets in the Ranji Trophy. If East Zone are riding high on skipper Behara and Anushtup Majumdar's batting prowess - both fresh from hundreds in the last match against West Zone- then North, too, bat strong with the likes of Rahul Diwan, Mayank Sidana who have scored consistently. Delhi boy Shikhar Dhawan knocked two sizzling centuries in each innings of the Irani Trophy and is sure to make this opportunity count. North's wicket-keeper Punit Bisht's double ton came in the last game played at the Kotla where the rest were found wanting against the seamers. South Zone vs Central Zone CHENNAI: If you go by the records, South Zone are a better side than Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy. They have won the title 12 times as compared to Central's five times. But cricket is a funny game and history does not always help a team do well. Both the sides looked strong and a tough battle can be expected as South and Central lock horns in the Duleep Trophy semifinal at the MA Chidambaram stadium on Saturday. South are the defending champions and having got stars like skipper S Badrinath, Dinesh Karthik, Abhinav Mukund, Robin Uthappa and Pragyan Ojha in their ranks, they are expected to be a formidable team. But Central too have Ranji Trophy's highest run-scorer Robin Bist, second highest run-getter Vineet Saxena, Pankaj Singh, Piyush Chawla and Mohammad Kaif to throw a challenge to their rivals. South will be missing the services of the two seasoned campaigners - M Viay and S Sreesanth - as both the players have been recovering from injuries at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Veteran Tamil Nadu batsman Badrinath will be leading the side but senior TN seamer L Balaji, who took the state side to the Ranji Trophy final, could not find a place. A lifeless MAC wicket came under criticism during the Ranji final and local authorities decided to host the match on a surface, which has a little bit of grass on the top.
