The vehicle in which the rape occurred was a wedding gift from in-laws. The victim was a 20 yr old Gurgaon mall employee originally from Manipur. The accused is a DU graduate Absolutely disgusted. I heard from someone that usually NE girls in Delhi are considered easy prey? is there any truth to that? What sort of punishment does he deserve or will get?

I also think so, because they are relatively more outgoing than typical desi girls. E.g. no typical northie/southie girl would accept the lift offer, unlike to as the girl in above case did. Also, different looks does not help either.

They are a little more adventurous even compared to the Punjabi girls. I am a great advocate of women's right to wear whatever they want, go wherever they please and do whatever they want (before the women here attack me), but in a city like Delhi, one should be reasonably careful.

Delhi seems to me to be very dangerous for women? its more like more cases are reported in delhi than other cities .in many cities police won't even file a FIR .In one word India as a whole isn't safe IMO .You need to be careful .

I disagree. Delhi does have a reputation for a lack of safety for women and petty crimes in general.
