Off the mark in the main part regarding Australia... last year we were just starting to develop a side after a period in the wilderness following mass retirements all at once (sound familiar)... Aussie players were learning and were burnt on previous series floggings or results i.e. all our bowlers were injured or injury prone (lack of fitness and training), the side had little or no focus, direction or planning (coaches gone) and confidence was low. Move ahead 12 months... team is still building, newer guys coming in but the keys... focused on fitness and consistency in the field, with the bat and with the ball... does it or has it worked all the time - of course not, look at the 45 in SA.... with the new coach came a definative plan, trust in the unit and confidence on the back of some improved performances... Siddle bowling a better line and length (coaches told him to pitch it up a yard on last year).... Harris is now fitter and lasts without injury...... Hilfy has picked up 10k speed on last year and is now consisten because his speed and line means he is not trying to do things to find wickets... I am sure the simple answer as you have provided is one way of looing at it, but unfortuantely it is inaccurate
No, your team management did not have balls to drop MJ, only injury to him made sure he is out and better bowler replaced him, that made huge difference. Not long ago, you lost to New zeland. remember that?? also you had your lowest total in decades? remember that?? Your media, ex cricketers were hell bent on dropping hussey and ponting LOL...you guys tried several youngster...Hughes, Khwaja, LOL, but dropped Katich...Big LOL there. The reason Australia is doing well is the "Bowling Unit". They have bowled consistently in good area, not for one spell, not for two, but every single spell except may be one sesssion in melbourne where they were too short. Your batting still revolves around Ponting, Clarke and Hussey. so in short you havent developed anything in batting, but your bowling has improved, which makes lots of difference.

I agree, with you and have said that we are emerging not developed.... Yes ponting and co are the dominant ones, but they are also class and in order for youngsters to follow leaders need to lead and show by example.... I am not sure about warner in the test format, one hit in the series does not give hima spot..... Cowan is new and will be ok in my view, 50-50 in this series for mine got a few 50s and a coupe of fails but he is new and I am prepared to give him a go... I don't know any aussie on here that supported Marsh in the side from before test 1.... and Haddin, well Haddin has to go... IMO we need an opener - Watson is proven here and will go ok or can bat at 6-7 if needed.... There are a number of others in the wings that should be given a run... Hussey's brother David is a gun but can't get a gig.... Birt is a prospect in my view for No.3 is young and super prospect - he is in the ODI squad I think.... Christian always should have been picked ahead of Marsh and is a super prospect.... There a couple of others but I would have those 4 floating around... Bowling I am less worried about... The imporvement in Hilfy and Siddle over the last 12 months is great and reports are there is more to go... Harris is good and Watson is to come back... Starc, Pattison, Coulter Nile, and Cummins mean I have no issue with that aspect of our bowling.... We still need a good spinner but if we follow Englands lead, we should go to India or Pak and have someone move here (lol)... I am not sure we are there though really... Lyon wont do much in SC IMO and others are not up to it...
thats ht prob in bowling i was talking abt and also they will need to learn how to bowl in sub continent.. (ur quicks) bowling wise u will do well if i was australian i would be hyping them up as the best attack in world :cantstop: batting well i have honestly not seen any of those guys other then hussey bat.. how is Christian ? i think i will search abt him is he the all rounder guy?

No' date=' [b']your team management did not have balls to drop MJ, only injury to him made sure he is out and better bowler replaced him, that made huge difference. Point 1 know what you are talking about before you say it. Point 2. MJ was dropped twice before his injury..... Form and bad bowling meant he was dropped, so have a look before you make statements that can make you look silly. Point 3. We did try Hughes and others, but see the difference, we tried something, in one breath you say our selectors have no balls to make a decision and in the next they make too many (notice one differnece our selectors try things, if you care to read around, India's problem is they wont instead preferring the corrupt approach), but we make changes.... WTF.... agin think before you speak or you run the risk of sounding silly Point 4. So of the top 6 in any side, we have 3 that dominated you guys all the way through..... We are not the best (yet) we are emerging and have had some good results and some really bad ones, but we move on and grow, learn and try new things... Difference is we have 3 greats batting well (they had form slumps but they are going well)... You have 1 of the top order delivering anything and he is a newy so has to prove it over time.. the other 5 are great (viru and GG have a lot to prove at test level off the SC) and they delivered nothing. The tope scorer outside Kholi (who looks great) only just recorded series scores marginally in front of Clarke's second best score in one innings or Ponting's single best score or 60 odd better than Warner's single inning top score..... Think before you speak mate, you run the risk of looking or sounding silly...:hatsoff:

Yes christian is a real promising prospect... In Australian cricket we get caught a lot in the NSW and WA cricket group dominating the Aussie side (ie lillee, Marsh - the 80s and 90s version from WA, and most of the rest from NSW - as were khwaja, hughes , katich, haddin etc)... Ponting had to move to Sydney to get the captaincy, the last non-NSW captain for Aust was Border.... Christian in not from WA or NSW so it is tougher for him, Siddle and Pattison are Vics but it is now too tough to move them on for a NSW or WA prospect.... Really though, Christian will be dreat and I hope birt gets a go... Those two alone with Watto coming back makes a much more solid batting line up.... I agree with SC conditions..... IMO we should be sending players to play in your domestic leagues like we did in Eng... Practice and play on them while bowling and learnign about your new prospects serves us well in the future

Respect!

These guys have done well for the country for more than a decade. Yes they did not know when to go out, that doesn't mean we keep piling the abuse. Show some respect to them legends!
:hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail: :hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail: :hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail::hail:: Done - shown respect - one respect for each of their years...can they please move on now... and give others chance! I also want to show respect to Kohli for standing up to the Oz crowd and the team and showing some fight. Give him others like him a chance! I dont mind losing. I mind losing playing like a whimp. He may flop in the future but he deserves respect for what he did.
