You missed the point again. The seriousness/cardinal-sin level of his mistake is supposed to be taken care of by the sentence he was dished out. That is the whole point behind that system. If internet voting starts deciding the fate of real-world - it wont be any better than fatwa-land. And if you feel so angered, what do you have to say on Sanjay Dutt / Salman /Saif kind of people - who are supposed to be role mode, and do not even serve/get the sentence for their crimes, and are allowed back in their profession - influencing masses again. So - after serving the sentence for his 'crime', he has every right to compete for the place in his profession - this is how it goes even in far far more serious crimes. Edit: Also, especially he was almost a minor and was influenced by senior folks - and deserves a fair chance in future.
+1234567989 Most important thing is, every living thing follows the lead from its seniors. That goes in animal world as well and human world as well. And he also did that in the influence of his seniors. And rightly so, seniors were given more higher punishment as compared to Mohd Aamer.

its people's foolishness that they still see those people as role models well who is stopping him for playing..i wont mind if he plays but honestly i dont know much about case how much was this guy involved cos even these things matter wont u agree?
I understand your feelings veere and I respect them too. But when you will become more mature, you will start understanding that these things happens in life but life doesn't stop. After he completes his punishment, he and PCB has every right to do whatever they want.

yes. he's a serious talent and cricket would lose by not having him back. he made some mistakes but he was very young. how many of us have cheated for a test in school or college??? but we are still (hopefully) progressing in our careers...

Wasim was a serious talent too and by letting him off we created many more fixers. We must consider all implications before letting him back in.

For sure. Not to do with tailunt or anything, one can't prejudice like that. I don't see why he should not return after the sanction ends. I don't see how an extra two year ban would make his return more acceptable to people (Pak4Eva, KT). Why is this?

Two/Three years meaning by the time his ban expires. I don't want the CAS to show him any leniency by reducing his ban period.

Wasim was a classic case of what you rightly called "let off". This is not. He has served a jail term and on a 5 year ban. I would of thought that would be enough punishment.

Thats exactly what i was saying, you can't give any bigger punishment to a very young boy in international cricket than sending him to jail. Just imagine 99% boys of his age enjoys their life with their friends without any care in the world, chasing girls, going to college and learning new things. Here is a boy who got chance to serve his country and has already been to jail too. He was just settling his feet in international cricket. Obviously, he didn't started playing with the aim of becoming a fixer. Unfortunately for him, he senior most players were corrupt and he too got into the fix.

Lots of kids enter cricket, doesn't mean you give into peer pressure. Its like saying 'I got into smoking because all my friends did it'. That may be true, but shows how weak you were in the first place. You'll just be used by everyone with authority around you. That said I voted Yes. Pakis are running out of fast bowlers like India is running out of their batsmen.
