Cheema and Junaid Khan will be up there in a few yrs along with Yadav. At the moment they are completely outdoing us at our traditional strength - spin!

At the moment Philander is ahead of Zak. The period from 2006 to 2011 (till WC) Zak was one of the best, maybe just after Ateyn but since then Zak has slipped a few notches.

A brilliant bowler for all conditions now.[/quote'] Anderson depends heavily on helpful conditions,Srilanka has been helping fast bowlers in recent years.Its when the ball does not swing he is exposed.When the ball is swinging he is the best bowlers in the world,But when it does not he looks as one of the worst.

He also averaged 26 in the UAE, almost half of Steyn's average.

The angle from which Anderson approaches to the crease makes him a more dangerous bowler even if he doesn't swing it too much. He sometimes reminds me of the 1 Test wonder - Bob Massie.
satishg Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I think Anderson has improved tremendously in the past couple of years, the fact that he is striking regularly with the new ball in SL is a proof for that. He needed helpful conditions before but now he is very good outside of England as well. I am not sure if he enters Steyn category yet as Steyn can demolish a batting lineup all on his own in the subcontinent as well but Anderson is slowly becoming a world class fast bowler.

Currently, he is swinging it EVEN from such an angle.
