Bumrah does not have a good record against NZ. He has a great chance to correct this when India tours NZ later in the year. Right now he is definitely in the conversation but it will also depend on how he does in the last 3-4 years of his career.

Finally spain scores

More than a total revamp, these players just need proper guidance. They need a quality bowling coach, not just for the senior team, but at the 'A' team level too who can actually work with them to develop their skills. Right now, the bowling looks completely planless. We need someone like Bharat Arun to come in and give these bowlers some clear direction.

We probably won't even get deleted scenes let alone an extended cut. I don't remember any Nolan movie which had deleted scenes released. -
BCCI to conduct a review of India's performance in England
zaqw222222 replied to The Realist's topic in Cricket Talk
Looking at our fielding performance, the main question has to be are the players even doing basic drills like catching practice? In the IPL, players always blame the lights, but these matches were played during the day, so that excuse doesn't work. It seems like no one is practicing and there are absolutely no bowling plans in place. This was a total failure on all ends. -
Haaland scores. Brazil had all the chances to close this match but they failed to make them count. Lets see how Brazil responds

Ben Stokes has announced that he will retire from international cricket, with the third Test against New Zealand at Trent Bridge set to be his final appearance for England. The 35-year-old informed the England squad of his decision before the start of play on Sunday (June 28), https://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/139366/ben-stokes-retires-from-international-cricket

I think if he improves his batting he could be a serviceable option for some IPL teams.

Is 2026 the worst catching year in IPL history?
zaqw222222 replied to BacktoCricaddict's topic in IPL Forum
My theory is that with how much players are constantly traveling between matches these days, they dont get as many dedicated fielding sessions in practice as they used to. -
I think unless Sky announces his retirement from international cricket, he is unlikely to be dropped. Having just won the World Cup and with a strong captaincy record in bilaterals, he will likely be backed by the BCCI for another 2–3 series. If his performance still does not improve, then they might consider him.

This (2026) is Punjab's year, you heard it here first.

Still feel the same, but as long as they are winning, its good. I just hope if a bad game has to come, it comes during league stage rather than during playoffs. -

Although they are undefeated, but I am still not convinced by their middle order. I still feel they rely on Iyer alot. -
There is no accountability, this has been on going issue since long In Asia Cup 2025 - catching efficiency was as low as 67% (dropping 12 catches) In ODIs since the start of 2024, India's catching efficiency has been recorded at 66% ICC Champions Trophy 2025: India recorded an efficiency of just 52.18%, the lowest among the eight participating teams. Test Cricket (Since 2023): India has also ranked low in Test catching efficiency among the top 12 nations, sitting 10th with 78.1% at one point in 2025.

I think the Board of Control for Cricket in India prefers to appoint an Indian coach. However, their top choices(Laxman, Nehra) don’t seem keen on taking up the role full time. Other options like Sunil Joshi or Kanitkar who are currently involved with the U-19 or India A setup, they don’t exactly inspire strong confidence at the senior level. Best course will be opt for a foreign coach. Fun fact: Shukri Conrad previously applied for Indian coach position in 2007.

I am assuming that Pakistan players agents has realized that IPL owners are buying teams in other leagues which is hampering their players involvement in those leagues. So agents may be trying to create some noise and put pressure on the ECB and team owners to consider picking a few Pakistan players.

Thankfully, Australia got eliminated. As per Fukra Insaan (the guy who was in Ind-Pak ad) they had already made an advertisement assuming AUS would definitely qualify for the Super 8. So at least we won’t have to see that ad now.

Our batters also tend to go for aerial shots, even when the delivery doesn’t warrant it. They seem reluctant to keep the ball along the ground and rotate the strike.

Does India have the spin attack for 15th to do the job for the team?

More than bowling I am worried about our batting against spin. Hope our batters prepare well for this -
Here’s my take on the whole 2026 T20 World Cup fiasco
zaqw222222 replied to Vancouver's topic in Cricket Talk
The irony is hard to miss. When India didn’t travel to Pakistan during the Champions Trophy, Pakistan still played them. When India refused to shake hands with the Pakistani team in the Asia Cup, Pakistan still faced them in the next round. When India didn’t accept the trophy from Pakistan’s chairman, Pakistan still played India in the Women’s World Cup and the U-19 World Cup. Despite all this, Pakistan never boycotted an Indian match. Yet now, when Bangladesh has been replaced, Pakistan chooses to boycott India. Pakistanis should reflect on where this sense of “backbone” was when Pakistan continued to play India despite repeated snubs.
