Ultimate_Game Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Here's how I rate the current fast bowlers 1. Steyn 2. Philander 3. Zaheer Khan 4. Anderson 5. Broad 6. Morne Morkel 7. Peter Siddle 8. James Pattinson 9. Ben Hilfenhaus Zaheer too high on the list. Based on his recent performances he will struggle to make it to the list as every bowler on that list has outbowled Zaheer last year.

He did well in the World Cup though and since struggled with injury, I still rate him highly in Tests aswell. Thats just my opinion.

Since then Zak has been a no-show and hasn't done anything of note, and in Aus he hardly made any difference.

But Zak played the whole series consisting of 4 Tests and he looked pretty ordinary. His fitness was never his strong suite but even his speed was a bit low and he was hardly able to maintain consistent line & length or pressure batsmen. IMO he's done in Test cricket other than 2 Test series.

Stan AF Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Until WC: Steyn Zaheer Anderson After WC: Anderson and Steyn. Though I will want to wait to see how Anderson does in India. Steyn is right up there with Malcolm Marshall for me. Philander Zaheer can make a comeback like he did earlier in 2006-11 but the 2 new ball in ODI's will now affect all bowlers, IMO. Brett lee made a valid pt earlier that he is not in favor the new rule and how its killin the art of reverse swing. Sad and stupid state of affairs. BTW did anyone watch Steyn's over to levi last night. Test LEVEL stuff right in IPL. Watchout England
Marut Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 On form Philander is the best in the world right now. He is bound to come down from the peak he has risen to, but i expect him to go on to become an ATG.
