Another dumb captaincy by MSD. He has to realize that this defeat was coz of a combination of various factors, not 1 odd factor. Selections, bad decision making, bad running btw, bad shot selection. And their attitude of denial and giving justifications for every mistake, will not get them anywhere. Sri Lanka is coming here after beating South Africa in last 2 ODIs. Seeing this performance of India, it might be a repeat of 1999 CB series where India won only 1 match.

Select: Sehwag, SRT, Gambhir, Kohli, Rohit, Raina and Dhoni. 4 bowlers only: ZK, VK, PK/Yadav depending on pitch and Rahul Sharma. We played one less batsmen and too many spinners. Historically we do well with 7 batsmen and using our part timers cleverly.

I dont think Jaddu would add anything to the side on these tracks except for his fielding.I hope we dont stick with him at no.7.

Saying since his debut that he is NOT A no7, he can't accelerate. Needs time at crease which he doesn't have in ODI's. He may not even be suited to batting in ODI's anywhere in top 7..

It was a literally dumb and stubborn decision by MSD to play 3 regular spinners on this spicy pitch of MCG. I wonder which team last played 3 regular spinners at MCG. On top of that two medium pacers, PK and VK. Wonder what Zaheer and Umesh has said against Dhoni that he is not picking them now in playing 11. Then decision of bowling last over by Ravinder Jadeja :mad:

Now, his bowling is also becoming a problem for the team

we dont even play three spinners in India where ball turns and pitches are slow. It was a perfect pitch for fast bowlers...most pitches will be like this. I remember last time how Ishant distroyed Aussie top order at MCG on a similar track.

Yes I agree, in the last couple of years, India have learned to play and win without Sachin in ODIs. But I won't still drop or rest Sachin. Atleast till the time, we secure our place in the finals. I'd rather drop Raina than Gambhir and play Sehwag on top of the order and Gambhir 1 down

Infact, I'd say play 4 seamers on Perth track and Rahul Sharma as 1 spinner. I am getting a feeling Dhoni will again go with same unchanged team for Perth match :nervous:
