India eye qualification lifeline

Net run rate equation Some one just put up what should be the runs/wickets difference with which Aus should win the next match so that Lanka's NRR stays below India's. It was amazing stroke play by indians. VK was totally out of this world yesterday.

NRR doesnt matter, number of wins against the team with which we are tied is taken into consideration and in this case since India won 2 and SL 1 India will go through assuming SL lose to Aus. This is a new rule!

For India to Qualify: If AUS bats First SLK should loose by more than 37 runs If SriLanka bats First and Makes 150 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 40 ovrs and Makes 175 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 41 ovrs and Makes 200 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 42 ovrs and Makes 225 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 43 ovrs and Makes 250 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 43.5 ovrs and Makes 275 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 44 ovrs and Makes 300 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 44.3 ovrs and Makes 325 in 50 ovrs AUS has to get there in 44.5 ovrs thanks to some poster somehwere.

^:WTF: SO even though SL lose to Aus, they cab qualify? No man, I think we will qualify if SL lose no matter how close the game goes.

Yeah if Sri Lanka lose they are gone, regardless of how much they lose by... If teams finish on level points then the team that won the most head to head matches between those 2 teams in the group stages gets priority for the finals... If they both won the same amount of games against eachother in the group stages, then it comes down to net run rate, and if net run rate is the same then it comes down to 6's hit and then 4's hit, lol. Regardless, India would qualify on the very first deciding factor because they beat Sri Lanka more times than Sri Lanka beat them, so NRR etc are meaningless in this series. Other series' may be different, but in this one Sri Lanka are on the plane home unless they beat Australia or there is a No result on Friday. Sri Lanka's best hope is to pray for rain!

I have a feeling that aussies cheaters will lose intentionally to srilanka but srilanka will beat them in finals.
Why would we want to do that? We would rather play India in the finals as we have ripped you to shreds all summer :) :giggle:
