I hope that we stop bending over backwards from now on and finally see that there's no such thing as spirit of cricket thingy, and we finally focus more on winning games for India no matter what than on looking good or on people's opinions about us. So we withdrew the appeal against Thirimanne against the same team who denied Sehwag his 100 by bowling a no-ball, and against the captain of the team which cheated at the toss in the WC final. Now look what's happened... Clarke made lots of noise about how his team wouldn't have done so and how he thought Mankading shouldn't be allowed. It's the same guy who stood at the crease after edging to slips in 2008 and from the team who claimed bump balls and would do anything to win, and yesterday they refused to withdraw the appeal against Tendulkar. I don't blame other teams for doing what they did. They are professional sportspersons representing their nation and should do whatever they can to win. I hope we finally get the message. At the end of the day scoreboard and results are the only thing that matters and India come out looking like losers and if they raise the issue about handling the ball or SRT run out they will be termed as cry-babies and cheats! I sincerely hope this is the last time when we bent over backwards to the detriment of our team, and hope our players remember it forever.

India wants to play the good guy, let them & let them get screwed. They need to see all other teams couldn't give a **** about SoC. Winning at all costs is something that needs to be beaten into these players

+++ But again, Who makeup for India wants to play the good guy syndrome? From the looks of it atleast yesterday Dhoni stood his ground and fought with umpires. Who are these mofos who keep putting India backwards in the spirit of the game? Lets start naming names now.

As in life and as in sport,if u let people take advantage of you,they will..all the time...spirit of cricket is for sissies.Hope its a lesson learnt for the future.

^^ A quick tail-piece here, nobody supports umpire over technology,or spirit of game thingy but even I have had enough of this lately. Perhaps more because Indian players have gifted it to the opposition.

The Thirimanne one was dumb, and should have Mankaded that idiot after that over at least. This time Dhoni did appeal and argue with umpires, it's just that decision went in favor of Hussey, that's all. Tendiya was out anyways, I don't think it was to be ruled in favor of the batsman - not even remotely as blatant as the Shoaib/Tendiya incident anyways. It was a terrible run.

About Tendulkar's run-out, Dhoni complained of different yardsticks on different days. "He [Tendulkar] had to take those extra yards. As the incident I spoke about, which happened a few games ago, I think Billy should have said something, because he was in a better position to see where exactly the bowler was and where he stopped. What? Why would umpire warn Vinay for going towards midwicket? Which incident is he referring to?
They thought he was trying to damagie the pitch,:hysterical::hysterical: even though india were to bat last on it.

Hussey was probably out but India would not have won anyway, they are not going to until the top order decides to put some runs on the board and not leave everything to Ashwin, Dhoni et al every time.

Serves us right to be made fun of off the field after the humiliation on it. This is what you get when you play not to win but to please others.

The thread is about how we are the only team bothered about "spirit of cricket" when others wouldn't mind cheating if it gets them a win. As regards to Hussey, if he had been given out and rightly so we wouldn't be chasing more than 220-230 and anything could have happened. Chasing 220 and 250 are different things and you can never tell what could have happened.

Lol Watson is trolling. He has to stop himself from breaking into laughter when talking about the Sachin run-out.
