Roshanrocks Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Kapil now says Tendulakr will be talked about for 50 years
King Tendulkar Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Kapil now says Tendulakr will be talked about for 50 years :haha:
Guest Gunner Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Wow some serious sachin bashing on this thread. I never thought there would be people like this.
Andy Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 No need to bash Kapil here. All this BS came up when Goddy was struggling from 2004-2007 due to his injury. He didnt do much then as he did for us in the 90s. Since then the table has turned on his head. In last 3 years it has been only Goddy who stood out for us in pressure situation and the rest failed. Even Kapil would admit that.

But being an ex-cricketer and commenting as an expert, Kapil should have known better
Andy Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 But being an ex-cricketer and commenting as an expert' date=' Kapil should have known better[/quote'] Yes, but that has happened with everyone. Slump in form for 3-4 years, tell me which cricketer has been excused? Since we are all fans of SRT we are reading only one side of the story. Right now people are questioning a legend like RD. One good year we'll see RD admirers bumping up all sort of thread asking for Dravids head. Yes there is a differnce between general fans like us and ex cricketers. Watchout few more series, you'll even watch ex cricketers questioning his place.

There is just one or two threads on Dropping Dravind and mostly reasonable posts with most disagreeing about him being dropped. On the contracry, these Sachin threads were filled with vitriol with people calling his intentions, his ability, his patriotism and everything else under question. Has Dravid been called selfish? Has Dravid been abused? Has Dravid been given a name like Endulkar? there is no comparison between the two situations at all

Just made my opinion on what Kapil said from the title of the thread.
DomainK Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 MTC is correct. The hatred shown to Sachin when he was having a difficult time was unbelievable.
Anakin Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Kapil has never been one of the sharpest knives any way
maaki Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Lets not get things wrong I am a big tendulkar fan, before the new Dhone era I would stop watching matches when tendulkar got out. Tendulkar has historically gotten out at wrong times due to pressure which gives the choke allegation on tendulkar.. During his best days he was the lone warrior hence india never did well and hence it added to that whole theme. That said In test matches i dont think there is much to separate by virtue of averages between Dravid and Tendulkar, only thing is he might have influenced more matches by scoring faster(both positive or negetive). The only thing is right now he is playing at his best and we have a gr8 team to support and at times when needed make up for Tendulkars failures. If this continues another couple of years i dont think anyone will be able to label Tendulkar choker..
vvvslaxman Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 He is right. He has not played under ground where the pressure will be more.

Some people will always keep coming up with this particular stats or other to suggest that he is not that great and it's foolish even to respond to them. I saw some really funny comments in that old thread :-):-). It's great to see egg on faces of some of those immature posters.
CSK Fan Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Lets not get things wrong I am a big tendulkar fan, before the new Dhone era I would stop watching matches when tendulkar got out. Tendulkar has historically gotten out at wrong times due to pressure which gives the choke allegation on tendulkar.. So has every other batsman in the world including Lax, Dravid, Ponting, Sehwag That said In test matches i dont think there is much to separate by virtue of averages between Dravid and Tendulkar, only thing is he might have influenced more matches by scoring faster(both positive or negetive). Really? There's a huge 5 run average difference between them now despite Sachin losing out 5 yrs to injury. And by the time both hang their boots, it might be much more. And there's also a scoring in the 90s vs 2000 factors which cannot be ignored by those who know their cricket. If you think its only the strike rates which seperate the two, unfortunatley yiu haven't watched or know enough cricket. The only thing is right now he is playing at his best and we have a gr8 team to support and at times when needed make up for Tendulkars failures. If this continues another couple of years i dont think anyone will be able to label Tendulkar choker.. Have seen enough of life and cricket to know thats not the case. When you reach the peak like Sachin, its only negatives which are remembered and not positives. It iwll only tkae 1-2 series failures for talks of hos choking to come out and all the great innings he played will be forgotten. If this wasn't true, we wouldn't have these threads in the first place! ^^^^ In bold
