Is this a surprise? Christian not voting for Raul Vinci??
Goa is not as divided along religious lines as it would seem.Besides this time BJP has not been in it's usual "hindutva" mode. They have fielded Christian candidates too . Goans are very politically active ...unfortunately they have some of the worst politicians in both the main parties. They get screwed no matter who they choose.Goa had the highest %age of voting. They deserve better politicians.:((

The CM candidate is a honest dude. I also listened to him on TV the other day and he said that his victory is a victory for Christians, Hindus and Muslims and all Goans irrespective of anything and that he would work hard for equal opportunities for everyone. Moreover, he is an IIT graduate and known for his honesty and clean image. And when the Rajdeep referred to him as "Chotta Modi" he interestingly replied that he is Manohar Parrikar and not Modi. And he said he will follow Goa model of BJP government and not Modi model. Though I like Modi but that was quite a bold statement by a newly elected CM. Rajdeep is also from Goa and knows the inside stories. So, he asked what will he do about the illegal mining lobbies in his own party and his allies and he promised that nobody would be spared. He definitely sounds intelligent and bold and not surprised why he won overwhelmingly.
