Bell saved by the law after bizarre helmet reprieve Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-2121271/Top-Spin-Test-Bell-saved-law-bizarre-helmet-reprieve.html#ixzz1qOVGLm41

Ian Bell was granted a bizarre reprieve when he swept off-spinner Suraj Randiv straight at short leg. The ball ricocheted off the fielderÃÔ shins and up on to his helmet, before wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene claimed the rebound. But Law 32.3(e) states that a catch is no longer fair if it has touched a ÁÑrotective helmet?

Wow.. I cant recall the game but i have definitely seen someone getting out in that fashion. Could it be new law?
during the 2008 IND tour of SL that happened twice, both times to indian batsmen but the umpires/fielders weren't aware of the rule i think. commentators kept on saying those weren't out.

The bandwidth is getting too crowded and they are applying various restrictions. So we have to keep changing the providers based on theirs current service.. Just after the test win I changed to a new provider. It's so faaaaaaaaaaaaaat now.. :aha:

English need Bopara In, either Kp or Bell out... Bopara in at the expense of Motu Patel wouldnt be right decision but thats what gonna happen next game

Yeah, I know what you are saying.....I think Bopara is better batsman on Asian conditions and should be in playing eleven. But I am really disappointed by this Ghochu Patel... Both the innings he gave away his wicket..... Make me think what the point of him being there if he will keep getting out in odi fashion...

Broad out for the next test. Atleast that's 1 less review that England will waste when they're batting. I hope that they bring Finn in.
:cantstop: Ya I also hope they play Finn,I m his big fan ,he will definately trouble the lankans.

With Broad out they will also be forced to drop Patel and play Bopara - they won't risk going with 5 bowlers (not sure what Patel is to be honest, but am assuming he was playing as a bowler since he batted below Prior) without Broad's batting. I feel Sri Lanka are going to serve up a patta and Jaya, Sangakkara, and Samarweera are going to bat and bat till tears start running down the eyes of the English players.

the p.sara oval generally offers a result oriented pitch. i don't expect any difference this time around either. if anything, it will offer some assistance to the fast bowlers unlike galle. i'd say they'll play bresnan and finn in place of patel and broad.

As a captain, you love to be challenged - Jayawardene

I thought we won the crucial moments. We managed to get a decent score on the board in the first innings and then bowled them out cheaply while the pitch was still good. When we collapsed again in the second innings, we managed to get some good partnerships from the lower order, which proved vital. The extra 60-70 runs we had was the difference.
