Sri Lanka vs England 2012

2-0 win for Engerland. SL batsmen are the worst when it comes to adjusting to different formats. They wil fail in shot selection. Batting lot depends on Sanga and Samaraweera's performances. And hopefully I can see Menda bowling in a test match, at least for one last time..

'With Straussy being the honest upstanding citizen that he is, he wouldn't lie about something like that. You have to take his word on it and the other slip and keeper thought he'd taken it, too.
:hysterical: Case of being stiff up their ass, been like this since their Ashes win. It's more like being the honest upstanding hooligans like their football counterparts. English players general on-field conduct has been rather thuggish in recent games.

Where was that honesty during the WC match against India? Strauss clearly edged a ball, MSD couldn't hear the nick, there was an appeal by other close fielders but Strauss never walked. Or is the honesty applicable only for the oopposition batsmen? This is what Swann has to say
'It was just cheating but we live in an age where cheating is accepted in our game. If you don't walk and get away with it no-one seems to say anything. I don't agree with that.'
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-2116812/Graeme-Swann-blast-Sri-Lankan-cheat.html#ixzz1pY8mp6ev The hypocrite that he is, would he let us know what has he done to ensure English batsmen walk? have never ever seen any English batsman walk.

Rubbish Strauss is too straight for his own good Glad to see some intensity from them, I hope they translate that into the test They are definately going to have a tought test series this summer against SA so they need to get in the grove

I'll go with that as well unless SL prepare some real turners which will bring their decent (but not outstanding) spinners into play.
Save that post for later this year:winky:

:giggle:
I think India will make pitches to turn so much that a spinner will bowl a ball and it will spin so much that it will bowl the non striking batsman:haha: Still they will need all the help they can get

So what's your prediction for this series?

As long as we get full days play, England 2-0 If it rains England 1-0 It is SA I worry about. I think if we played Pakistan now and omitted morgan and replaced him with Patel we would see a different result. One of Englands big problems these days is being too loyal. Morgan should have gone after first test, it was obvious he was struggling, but then so was Bell. I am still backing Bell to come good. Also I am in Florida on holiday for the second test, so if we lose the reason I am not posting is because I am in Florida, Got it everyone

Patel :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Bopara will bat at 6 with Swann and Monty as the two spinners.

Hmm. It will be interesting Series..... If somehow Lankans find a way to get past Captain Cook, Lankans will own the series else It will be either a draw or series in favour of Lankans... I am sure people arent factoring home advantage Lankans are going to enjoy when making predictions

I dont rate Ravi at all, seen him fail too often in the big matches

I guess Strauss is the captain of the England test side. PS - If you meant this with reference to the salt brand, please ignore.

Swann: I wanted to kill cheating Sri Lanka batsman Graeme Swann yesterday branded a Sri Lankan player a cheat then railed against cricketers who do not play to the spirit of the game. Swann was furious after Dilruwan Perera, who made his one-day debut against England in 2007, failed to walk when he edged James Anderson low to Andrew Strauss at slip in SaturdayÃÔ warm-up win. Perera refused to accept the England skipperÃÔ Ž*assurance the ball had carried and was given not out sparking an on-field row. Should there be a similarly disputed catch in one of the Test matches, Swann is relieved a Ž*decision review system will be in place to prevent a repeat of the ugly scenes. He suggested the angry exchange could have Ž*escalated further had Strauss not stepped in to calm down his team. ŪÃÎ just glad I live in an age where DRS is in place, said Swann. ŵhe batsman stood there knowing 100 per cent he was out. Å©e chose to cheat in my view, he opened himself up to the level of abuse that was coming to him and IÃÎ glad Straussy was there as somebody with a bit of nous to calm things down. Å´traussy was miffed his integrity was questioned and I wanted to kill the batsman because he was cheating. He was stood right next to me with a smug look on his face. Ūt was just cheating in my view, but we live in an age where itÃÔ accepted in Test cricket if you nick it and donÃÕ walk. I donÃÕ agree with that. Ū understand when people say, êÃÃl leave it to the umpire but again IÃÅ question their morality. ŵhe same people claim catches and say, ê caught that, you have to take my word for it? ItÃÔ horrific double standards and against the spirit of the game. If you know youÃÓe out, then you walk off. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/cricket/graeme-swann-branded-sri-lanka-765881
