We are lopsided as a team and heavily depend on our batting to win games.Other than zaheer..and to some extent harbhajan.. we haven't produced a single consistently good bowler... and I am defining a good indian bowler as one who has some semblance of cricketing brain and ability to contain.. even if not take plenty of wickets. Which is probably why we should be chasing in all matches.

ofcourse batting is our strong without a doubt ,but our bowling these days can't be better than associate teams .You can't expect batsmen to chase more than 300 everytime .

Dhoni's field set up is pathetically defensive in most cases... and we leak runs like crazy... gently cajoling the batsmen to settle in and build their confidence. It's a double whammy --- third rate bowling+ sub par field placement = easy scoring for any team.

^^^ Ajmal is currently a colossal rite now in the paki bowling attack, every delivery looked it could fetch a wicket. It's a shame ashwin has turned into such Ass-swine.

I don't think aggressive fields work in ODIs in the sub-continents, just serve up more chances to score runs. In-out fields are the best which Dhoni employs. Other captains, do the same. One can question such tactics at a Melbourne, Birmingham or a Durban but definitely not at Dhaka. Moreover, looking at the number of 330 (around) chases teams have achieved I doubt it's a big ask as it was few years earlier. To add, our bowlers aren't Garner, Marshall and McGrath either.

and it wasn't that Ajmal is an immense spinner of the ball. Both him and Afridi are good with pacing their deliveries aptly and putting them in the right spots... Other than Kumble.. I can't think of a single Indian spinner who does that. Our bowlers have this preconceived imagination of bowling at a spot they pick and hope that the batsman will NOT take a run.. .. Its not even about trapping the batsman for a wicket or beating him completely... it's all about hoping the batsman does not hit you for 4.
