He was 78 at the end of 30 overs. He reached his 100 in 43rd over.. .which took him another 40 balls.
vvvslaxman Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Ok you do have a point, but pinning the whole thing on Tendu slowing down for his 100 is BS.. these are some of the points most Anti sachin fans who tend to ignore for the sake of it 1)Rohit sharma coming out to bat in front of I.pathan especially with 3 overs or so remaining was not a wise movie those 6 balls sharma faced he only scored 4..Pathan might have scored more.. 2)I still don't understand why you don't point fingers at our bowlers Especially the experience they have playing in IPL their death bowling should have been better instead of bowling full tosses down the leg side which i say are almost like free hits.. And pakistans LOI bowlers bar ajmal are just AVG cheema and Gul but both helped them win a match each against BD when Pak defended a moderate score 3 kohli and his SR it was almost at par with Tendu, he should have tried to up the ante Instead of playing dot balls and loking for singles... They were so predictable.. that even half way stage we could sense Bangladesh could pull off a win chasing that target. Were there Zaheer khan, Nehra, Munaf Patel who played for us in the world cup? Nope. This is a second string attack. Even the one guy who has been picking wickets was not playing. Vinay kumar. It is hard enough for a team like Pakistan to defend a total like 240 with 3 very good spinners against Bangladesh and one decent bowler like Gul how is our bowlers going to do any magic. They are moaning about missing decent 5th bowling options. Against India they played like 7 bowlers. Still couldn't defend 330 runs even after taking a wicket in the first over. But our attack is far far worse than that. Under lights our bowlers have absolutely no chance with ball slipping out of the hands and ball nicely coming on to bat. Moment they restricted us to 289 more than half the battle was won by Bangladesh. With our poor bowling attack INdias best chance was to bat Bangladesh completely out of the game by putting up a huge total. India had it. Blew it by pottering around until 43rd over.

Hafeez and afridi are ordinary the reason they were success was because unlike our spinners they did not give any freebies... no matter who the bowler is but if you give half trackers at 120km/h in the slog overs you are destined to loose the match... about the ball slipping out of the hand wonder why it never slipped out from pakistani bowlers like the way it did for us.... the reason VK got wickets was he was bowling slow in btwn to deceive the batsmen unlike Pk and Irfan or Linda who just kept on bowling full tosses our bowlers showed no skills or any desire to defend the score

Moreover i have explained... at what stage you reach 90 is important.. he reached his 90 at 23rd over.. Again.. Again Again.. Again... this is not about 90 to 100.. This is about how you play with 20 overs to go.. with 9 wickets in hand.. are you sure? :hmmm:

SL was making mincemeat of our bowling until two dumb shots. Indian bowling is not really famous for forcing the issue. They wait for opposition to make mistake. Sometimes they make...we just cash in. Unlike Ajmal who was consistently looked like taking a wicket every over we don't have even a single bowler. No bowler is reliable in the current team. Also don't forget we lost Vinnie kumar who picked 3 wickets against Lanka.

Have you looked at the stat of Afridi vs Bangladesh. He has singlehandedly demolished Bangladesh in several matches. Just look at the recent series of Afridi vs Bangladesh. He is averaging like 20 vs BD. Hafeez 5th in ICC ranking.Ajmal 2nd in ICC ranking. You are comparing our jaddu with them? lol.. Ashwin has regressed since Australian tour. He is not exactly a finished article.

Exactly.. we are playing Bangladesh.. should have scored a lot more..We scored 330 against Pakistan, not long ago We demolished SL inside 40 overs. On flat wickets we are even more dangerous. It is not like we lost heaps of wickets. We had lost just 2 until 44th over.
