kanpur3214 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Passion n emotion Footballers show so much emotion not just during WC but also at club level Seems like the countless number of ODIs and IPL matches have diluted everything and cricketers hardly care about loses and wins that much
vvvslaxman Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Fans of all the other country have tasted what is winning multiple times. So they handle losses better. BD is yet to taste one. Until they taste their passion will continue.

Until they taste their passion will continue. But problem with Bangbros's passion is that, now after this impressive display, their expectations would see no bound. They would expect Bangladesh to defeat Australia by an innings in Perth, if they happen to play a test tomorrow or to whitewash India in a test series to be played in India.

We may turn on the TV expecting and hoping Bangladesh wud fight against aussies in ODI's. We want them to fight in Test against aussies but not win!! Also, we all like to dream big buddy!! Thats human nature... Finally I know vvs hates bangladesh and that is fine, but we are a passionate bunch and there are no two ways abt it...

Their occasional superhuman performance blind them and fans end up losing their perspective. Even in this series you take out Shakeb and Tamim there is virtually no consistent performer. It is another case of punching above the weight and feeling over-confident. This team has miles to go.

Our players are more emotional in IPL where more money is involved. Everything else is more like a day to day 9-5 job.

I think the deshi fans are more than capable people of distingushing a difference between almost winning an asian cup IN bangladesh to BEATING australia away, in a test considering their pace line lacks......
Alchemist Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Last year during WC one of the ESPN (US) team member was sent to cover the event. His major focus was SRT and WC. He wrote a very nice article. One thing that I still remember from that article is what Sanjay Manjrekar told this guy while covering the first game against Bangladesh. "The cricketing innosence is still present in Bangladesh" I think that sums it up.

I only hear this in India forums. I know I have joined recently but I have been an observer for some time just to see what peoples opinions are and I have come across this type of comment few times before. We are not that disillusioned and we do not make our sportsman to be Gods. Even during the final BD fans were just happy to be in it and never took for granted PAKS skill. If we thought like that BD would have said yeah we beat india, india beat pak which must mean we can thrash Pak aswel!....BD fans in general have the best sense of reality when it comes to understanding potential of their team. I have never heard such statements from a BD fan. There's one things trying to rev yourself up by saying yes we going to win this and that but believing it 100% is a different story.

I am happy with the progress of Bangladesh and really want to see them a develop cricket nation (higher the number of competitive cricket nations, lesser would be Bradman's achievement :winky:). But it would only help if Bangbros keep their feet on the ground after this good display, which could very well turn out be watershed moment in their cricket history like australian tour of SL in 95.

Hate to break it to you mate but you guys big up your players to extreme proportions as well. I remember the pre-worldcup thread that you guys started like 2 months before and were talking about thrashing the Indian team:giggle: We all know what happened there. If at all, you guys are more crazy and fanatic about your players
