IKnowU Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 What a desperate way to find talent :headshake: How about nurture them all first and then pick the best ones out? Half the bowlers that will turn up to these trials wont have the basics down, never heard of fitness and do it for sh1ts and giggles. Whoever is picked from these trials will be juiced up and burnt out by the time they make it professionally, where is the development as a whole? Picking and choosing out of randoms wont get us anywhere and or to those kids themselves. They only put themselves under pressure by expecting to live upto their hype after being picked from these trials :headshake:
Roshanrocks Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Raw Talent Search Scheme :nice: Theoretically a good way to find bowlers who havent had the opportunity to pursue cricket as profession. Hope corruption doesnt rears its head here too though. otherwise we will see tahsildar, jamadar, political kids getting selected. How will 17yr old kids show address proof? Ratio card? Hope some decent talent is unearthed

A bowler is born with pace, not made. You dont need basics. As Wasim/Waqar say, in pakistan, for a young bowler, you never look at basics, You just see how fast he can bowl and what action. Everything else you can learn later without compromising on pace. So for the first few years they are just asked to bowl as past as possible
Cricket Tragic Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Any idea how many turned up for the previous trials? I think I read about it somewhere.
yoda Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 It's a great idea. Gives those kids who get stuck in the bureaucratic world a chance.
rkt.india Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 F.delhi boys can also participate in that:WTF: Whats wrong in that? :dontknow:
shinchan Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Whats wrong in that? :dontknow: i didnt understand why they specifically mentioned delhi??
Trundler27 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 i didnt understand why they specifically mentioned delhi?? Probably because the ad was posted by DDCA and the trials are being held in UP..... So they just wanted to throw a lifeline to delhi boyz in case there were some around meerut who can bowl phaaaaaaaaaaaaast btw, what about those talented boys who can't read english... i hope they published similar ads in hindi papers too.
rkt.india Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 i didnt understand why they specifically mentioned delhi?? Because add was published by DDCA and trial is held in UP.

Ultimate_Game Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 This is a good start but BCCI still needs to do a lot to nurture and manage the talent they already have. They couldn't do anything with the likes of Irfan, Balaji, VRV Singh, Munaf, Nehra etc. and even Ishant & Sreesanth are going down the same path. Unless BCCI learns how to manage talent nothing will change.
jairamesh Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I hope the ads are happening all cross the country.
