Reality Check It's a good reality check for us today. And if anyone deserves to slap, it is the fans. Tremendously overconfidence and really many delusional here. 1. Winning at home is not a guarantee. We can easily lose a series here as well. Thus, actually Dhoni deserves some credit for winning previous series rather than little recognition. 2. Not only India have spinners, even England have some. And they are not bad at all. 3. Not only England have troubles with spinners, so does India. 4. Perhaps the above point comes with the lack of form of some of our batsman. 5. We cannot be overly dependent on the pitch to win matches. We still have to perform and avoid mistakes. 6. There is no perfect selection of squad or team. Many fans here just have a wrong logic if they believe there is a perfect team. It's all about basics in cricket. A lot of kneejerk reactions here as 1 week ago, we had the greatest this or that to today needing a radical change. Really India needs better fans first rather than better players.

Point 1, 3 and 5 have been overlooked more than once. Specially point 3 - the genre of spin bowling is changing and it makes visiting teams with decent spinners quite potent. Also, I have seen people talking about Point 1 as fait accompli - I wish he give more respect to wins at home just like winning abroad.

WTF India has a home record which is outstanding in last decade. We have only lost 1 series in last 10 years. And we have played likes of warne to muruli to vettori.

And just 2 since 1987, and one of which was the Aussie series in 2004 where the Pawar/Shashank Manohar lobby gave Aussies a green track at Nagpur to spite Dalmiya & Ganguly.

When you bowl 100+ overs back to back in 1st test and 2nd test in less than 4 days off and your new spinners get to bowl 20 overs because captain is saving him for tailenders what do you expect.ashiwn and ojha again bowled 40+ overs.

Yeah and we have lost only 1 test at home under Dhoni and no we didn't draw many matches because of flat pitches either. It's not fitness it's to do with strategy. Ashwin got loads of wickets earlier against poorer opposition, you need to set a batsmen up especially when things are going against you. Or at least be accurate and eventually a wicket will fall. Ojha fair play forces batsmen to make errors.

It is shameful to lose to England at home in even a single test when you consider how rubbish they are in asia and how strong we are at home. The blame lies with us for carrying passengers.

How rubbish? They leveled series against SL and that's what we have been able to do in our recent tours there. They lost in UAE because of brilliant bowling of Ajmal and Rahman. Our spinners are not even close to them and batsmen are out of form. We didn't win 2006 home series against England either and IIRC they had lost to Pakistan then also. Just because of 8-0 we think we will become super dominating team at home and would annihilate teams like we have never done in our test history even when we don't have in form players. A series win should be good enough result for this team.

Our situation was different when we faced mystery mendis. Sri Lanka are a weak team now and they could have won that series with England.

Yeah, could have and should have. They didn't and we didn't.

Realistic goals! :two_thumbs_up: I see people want to avenge our defeat in England. I am not sure if that's the right way to go.

People want bollywood movies type action. Hero goes down and is on verge of dying. Then suddenly he rises and beats everyone. :hysterical: We are dependent mainly on few young players ffs. It would unfair if they are not given credit just because we don't get 4-0, 4-0 which we haven't done ever with our best team at home.

People will want revenge but it seems our captain and team also wanted it.

The below players shouldn't be playing : Srt Bhajji UV Zaheer Maybe even gautam We have lost because our selectors refuse to do the right thing and our team refuses to use DRS. IMO this is a deserved result
