Vijay.Sharma Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Phaltu? Freudian slip or genuine regional mispronunciation? :P Phaltu = useless Paaltu = domesticated/pet As bad as Murli Kartik is, I still wouldn't call him useless.Arre meri maa, ek baar toh maaf kar de? Anyway, I think Murali Kartik is more than just useful. I think he deserved to play 10 times more than he has for India. He coulda carried Bedi's tradition of craftiness forward

He was the 3rd choice spinner behind Kumble and Harby 3. In the chances he got, he didn't set the world on fire, except for that one game in a dust bowl
Vijay.Sharma Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 He had a few issues: 1. Attitude - I have read stories about issues he hadIf Bhajji and Yuvi could be tolerated then I don't see why Kartik couldn't be. 2. He was the 3rd choice spinner behind Kumble and HarbyAgreed, but there were many games where one of the two weren't playing and instead of playing MK the selectors played Chawla, Mishra, etc. 3. In the chances he got' date=' he didn't set the world on fire, except for that one game in a dust bowl[/quote']8 Tests stretched over a period of 4 years is hardly a fair sample to discard him so unceremoniously
