A simple seedings after qualifying group would have evened out the Super 8s. To have the four weakest teams in one group, and the best four in another is more like Plate group and Elite group arrangement. Goup B also was played on tougher conditions, taking alot out of the teams. I doubt Australia or Pakistan will win.
I have a problem with that too - how can you have one power packed group versus one group which consists of completely small teams. To add, these groups were decided with pre-seeds and hence there can be no excuse either.

Since the WC, Dhoni is running a one man show. He gets the team he wants, and has his way in the final 11 selection. Guess Fletcher and co are happy with the moollah they are raking in without thinking much worry about the future of the team. This team needs a complete overhaul including a coach who is a tough task master and doesn't tolerate fat lazy superstars like Sehwag or Zaheer or an arrogant leader who has become the prisoner of his own success.
I guess time for Chappell part 2.

You need to quantify your statement - this looks like pure speculation. What are your sources?

UG - As I said' date=' it is not about the outcome of the rules. Do these rules make sense? Remember rules must be on an even keel for everyone. In addition, in the Super 8s remember that Group 1 was packed with good teams but Group 2 was with lower ranked teams.[/quote'] Yup the pre-seeding part is quite brainless. After all there should be an incentive for topping the tables at group stage.

Also, if there is pre-seeding why not spread the good teams across two groups? Why pack one group with quality sides and the other with fuddu teams like Sri Lanka and West Indies.

As much as it matters to him' date=' he must show this in his batting than on the field.[/quote'] LOL,Do u think that any of the player can perform well in every day ?. give some respect for him man.don't be a ashamed person

Kohli bounced out by both Aus and SA.
This one hardly a bouncer. He pulled England bowlers at will. Actually i rate English attack better than Australian attack. This pat cummins was collared by every tom, dick and harry in Pakistan team. Not once. But twice in recent times. And also Malinga is one bowler so many teams struggled against in the LOI. Kohli literally owns him. I think he is a better player than his failures in the 2 matches.

The seeding concept is ridiculous. The Super 8 groups should have been decided based on the league standings. We had this ridiculous situation where all the 4 teams which topped their groups were in the same Super 8 group and all the runners-up in the other group.

Why pack one group with quality sides and the other with fuddu teams like Sri Lanka and West Indies.[/quote'] Seedins should only be for the group stages. After that super 6s/super 8s or knock-outs should happen based on the tourney results. But in this case it's our fault for getting thrashed by Aussies and being in a position we are in.

I am not sure about carrying points forward.. but the groups were just bizarre! All minnows in one group.. Sri Lanka, West Indies.. and all top tier teams in another to fight amongst themselves.. Australia, India, SA, Pakistan.. doesn't look right at all.

Also' date=' if there is pre-seeding why not spread the good teams across two groups? If yes, than more idiocy from ICC considering the constant state flux the T20 rankings are. But no worries, ICC will come up with some formula to ensure India reach semis and finals next World Tamasha Cup.

Also should'nt they somehow include wickets-factor too in NRR? I mean a team chasing 150/1 vs another team chasing same with 150/9 are treated same, Not fair...
