Is Fletcher in India watching the IPL matches?

Since becoming the Indian coach, Fletcher has hardly spent time following our domestic cricket, primarily due to a non stop schedule of the national side. IIRC, he had gone back to SA on a holiday, when some of our teams were playing the CLt20. Not sure how much he knows about our domestic cricket or if he has got any list of talented youngsters in the domestic circuit. IPL will present a good chance for him to watch some of these younger guys. I hope the BCCI asks to attend a number of IPL matches so that he has a proper idea about those outside the national squad. The IPL may not be the best format to judge the talent of youngster,s but surely it does give a good enough indication about player's abilities. Joe Dawes, the new bowling coach is a bowling coach with Kings11 Punjab, so he surely would travel around the country and get to watch a number of Indian bowlers. Hope he picks out some of the guys with the necessary skills to groom them for the national side.

i think even if he didnt watched maches its not big deal any way.. all the Major Indian cricketers are playing in IPL an Captaining thier respective teams..so talent spotting wont be a problem Just my opinion

Hope he watches the duleep & irani trophy atleast.. That is where the the countrys best talent are supposed to be vying for national colours. IPL may not indicate the stamina of a bowler to bowl continuously hostile 6-7 overs nor the fitness to bowl 20-25 overs in a day. For a batsman, it will surely not display his temperament, technique while facing fast bowlers or the spinners nor the fitness to bat for a day
