There are some players who you watch pretty often and they aren't big stars but when you look at their stats, it's surprisingly good. I was looking through Kyle Mills' ODI record the other day and it's fantastic! Matches 135 Wickets 200 Avg 25 Eco 4.7 He'd walk into our ODI team.

Bud any half decent seamer/pacer would walk into our team. When the likes of PK, Vinay and Dinda comprise our bowling attack, any option would be an upgrade.

Upul Tharanga's inn/hundred stat No hundred in the last 20 innings. Before that he had 12 tons in about 120 innings.

Good swing bowler. Kulasekara has a good record, he was world number one in ODI cricket until last year. Another one to surprise people is that Mohammad Sami had a good ODI bowling record, Daren Powell's wasn't too bad either, despite both being terrible Test bowlers. Tsotsobe has 58 ODI wickets at an average of 20.05, which is outstanding.

How about Sarwan and Chanderpauls Odi average ?

Sarwan's ODI average is very impressive. :nice: Everytime I think of Sarwan I remember him smashing that four off Sir Aggy. :(( I think most people would expect Chanders to average around about what he does.

Batting stats look a bit better if you discount the early part of his career. But yes, a superb bowler. The swing he gets is magnificent. It is a shame his body means he cannot bowl more.

His problem in tests has been the conversion rate. He usually gets a start but doesn't make the big score very often.

Mohammad Sami's test record is exactly opposite of what OP mentioned here. Before checking his record, I never knew that he has been so bad in test matches.

He was in amazing form during those years and his batting average was around 55. I remember Kyle Mills for two matches against India in 2002 ODI series and Davison hitting him everywhere in WC. Irfan Pathan. His ODI record is very good and his test average is better than many Indian bowlers.

Really? His record has been a joke among fans for a long time.

Tony Greig. The man is despised by many, specially about his comment on West Indies, and is known more as a commentator but scored at 40 plus in over 50 tests and took 141 wickets at just above 30. Miles ahead of the likes of Shastri, Afridi, Prabhakar but rarely gets the billing as a pretty solid all-rounder.

Shubhash Gupte's test record- We hardly hear or read about him when they talk of Indian spinners. But he can hold his own against the likes of Chandra, Bedi and Kumble. Bobby Simpson's test record. Always thought he wasn't a very successful test player, to my surprise he ended with a test average of 47, which in those days was damn good.
